Gillian was sitting at her desk working on her laptop. Emily then comes through the door. She looks upset. Gillian looks up from her work and sees her

"Hey Em what's up?
"Nothing"
She was lying

"It's just....my dad. He promised to spend time with me but he just blew me off AGAIN.
"What's his excuse this tine?"
"He said something had come up and he couldn't make it. So i thought he would be here but he isn't so i don't know where he is"
"Well i'm sure he'll be back soon. In the meantime why don' you just stay here with me."
"Okay. Just like when i was little."
"Oh yeah i forgot about that. It was...

It was easy to tell herself it was just dinner with her best friend as she walked out of the elevator and towards the parking lot. It was much harder to convince herself that said statement was true, however....
