(set five months after the wedding)
They sat at home watching their wedding video. It was late. They were just about to head up stairs when they heard a knock on the door. he went to go answer it for fear of the person behind the door being a criminal. but when he opened it - to his surprise- it was a little girl. she had a suit case and a teddy bear and was dressed the way that kate usually dressed. "Hi Dad!" He was confused. this couldn't be his daughter. he would have known about her. "Dad?" he asked. As soon as kate saw the little girl, she knew where she had come from. castle backed away into the kitchen to talk to his wife. "I know where she is from, Rick." "Where?" "Remember 2 months ago you signed those papers and didn't realize that they were adoption forms until after you had mailed them?" He did not say anything but he just looked at the girl. She did kind of look like kate. "Just get her room ready." He said. So kate went up and prepared Alexis's old bedroom. Rick approached his daughter. "Hi" he said. "Hey!" "So whats your name?" "I'm Johanna" she said with a big smile on her face. that was odd, he thought. they had been planning to have kids, and they wanted their first daughter to be named Johanna in memory of Kate's mom. "Well i think your room is ready" the little girl darted up the stairs. she looked at her new room. she looked so small sitting in a bed that was really too big for her. "Hi Mommy!" "Hi, What's your name?" "Johanna." Kate felt a tear come up and she sat on the bed beside the girl. the 4 year old crawled on to her new mother's lap. Kate stayed there all night with her new daughter.
