Here are a couple of reasons Bamon will never happen:

There is no attraction at all between them. Apart from the fact that Bonnie has actually tried to kill Damon, she has never and never will try to understand him or accept him.
Personally I dislike Bonnie. But it's not my dislike towards her that turns me against Bamon. Maybe if they had some further interaction rather than her yelling at him, trying to kill him, or otherwise I MIGHT like them together, but Bonnie just isn't important enough in the show to end up with Damon.

And a pick that I saw on the Bonnie and Damon page was 'Yes they love...

Sometimes it's hard to be a DE shipper.
One moment, you're on top of the world, after reading that Executive Producer, Kevin Williamson, wants DE to get together. The next, you're brought down to earth with a bump when he pours doubt on whether it will even happen.

I believe that Damon can bring the old Elena to life, the girl who had fun and just lived life. So Damon and Elena are slowly re-awakening each other, it takes time its a work in progress, it does not run a smooth course but its about the journey they are on to get to that point. Even though they may try to push each other away at times because they are both afraid to come out of that safety zone, that safety net which brings about vulnerability. I certainly get the point, and oh, my, did I let it out in Shadow Souls. You are right. I was just telling a Swedish reader that you should always follow your heart and in SS I did follow my heart. I didn't think anyone would like the book because it was about another dimension and the girls were slaves--my publishers tried so hard to cut that out, but I felt that Damon was more mature when he had a "family" to care for. With that book, I followed my heart in everything.

There are some Stelena scenes, too, and I meant them; I felt them....

At the end of this season, I'm almost 100% shure that she will choose Damon, or choose to be alone. People say ''She will choose Stefan, it's an obvious-boring choice.'' I would say the same thing, year ago. Now, no. She loves them both, so it's not about love now. It's about who was there for her, the whole year. Who was good and caring, who loved her, and she treated him badly, because she couldn't admit her feelings. It's about that. About him. It's either Damon, or no one.
