Hi:D I would just like you to know that Duncan and Courtney are both 11 in this story, kay? It adds cute-ness to it >w<
------------------------------------------------
Duncan's POV:
"Ouch! What the shit, Jordan?" I shouted, as my annoying younger sister pierced the needle into my skin. "If you want to impress her by putting on your stupid bad boy facade, you have to stop freaking SQUIRMING!" She snarled, piericng the needle in my ear again. I groaned in pain as she used peroxide to clean up the blood. "Really, why couldn't Terrence have done it?" I asked through clenched teeth.
"Ugh. Because, Terrence doesn't want to, he thinks that you're being stupid. While I, on the other hand, would like to help my dear cousin." Jordan replied pressing the needle through my eye brow this time. This one didn't actually hurt.. "Pssh...No you don't, you just want someone to experiment on. So when you grow up you can cause people more hell." I replied, pissed that I was in so much pain. "Okay, fine. But if you want to impress the girl, you have to pay the price. Now hold still, I'm done with your eye brow. I need to do your lip, so don't talk for once." My cousin snapped, pressing the needle to my lip, and pushing it in.
Courtney's POV:
I jumped as I heard a loud scream of pain coming from Duncan's house. I cursed as I dropped my mom's mascara on the floor, spilling some of it on the carpet. I sighed, I didn't have to be worried, mom is always so drunk that she barely even remembers what I look like, how will she even notice a carpet stain? I picked up the makeup and continued the apply it as gently as I can. To bad I didn't realize how much mascara was actually ON the brush. I didn't notice it as I picked up my mother's lipstick and blush and started putting it on my face, 'it's okay. Mom won't even notice.' I thought to myself. It's worth it anyways, if it gets Duncan to notice me, then it's okay. I smiled sadly to myself, put all my mom's stuff back in her drawer, and slowly crept out of her room.
I walked to my room, the door was already open. There's no need to lock it or close it. Mom is never home, normally on Valentine's Day, she would just go to the bar and get drunk. Hook up with a few guys, and not return for a week. I didn't find this sad. I'm already used to it by now. I went through my clothes as I picked out my pink dress, this would look cute for the carnival. I quickly dressed into it, put on my matching pink flats, and went downstairs.
My sister, Carol, was asleep on the couch, her blonde hair was plastered all over her face, she had glitter all over her clothes, she was sleeping soundlessly, and she looked like an angel. I was always jealous of her, she was so beautiful, so DIFFERENT. She always smiled, but she hasn't shown a real smile for four years. Four years ago, on Valentines Day, our youngest sister, Vanessa, who was 6 years old, died. She was hit by a car, our DAD'S car. He was angry with mom again, and he decided to leave on his truck, what he didn't know was that me and Vanessa were playing tag in the drive way, Vanessa pushed me out of the way, and she got hit instead. The memory of her lifeless, small, fragile body still haunted me. I shook it off. It was years ago, she's happy now. I kissed my sister on the cheek and crinkled my nose. She smelled like beer. It's okay..She's always like this on the anniversery of Vanessa's death. I sighed, and walk out the door, locking it as I did so.
Duncan's POV:
I held ice to my lip as Jordan ran the green goo through my hair. "Now, we have to wait 10 minutes for it to set." She told me, washing her hands in the sink. "So don't leave until then." Jordan pointed at me. "If it gets wet, and it's not 10 minutes dry, it'll be ruined. I have to go, I need to be first in line to ride the ferris wheel. Every year, I'm stuck in line, and when I finally get to the front, some fat bitch has to take the good seat." My cousin ranted as she walked out of the batroom. "Have fun trying to impress the girl way out of your league, Dunky!" She yelled, while walking down the stairs.
I would have retorted with a smart-ass comeback, but my lip hurt to much to speak. I walked into my room, which was just right across the hall to the bathroom, and sat on my bed. I looked out the window, then at the clock. 'Just 8 more minutes to go, then I can go to see her' I thought to myself. Suddenly, I sat up straight, and saw that somebody in a pink dress was walking down the street. I squinted to get a closer look at her. Ugh, I felt such a stalker.
It was Courtney...Suddenly, the pain in my lip went away, and my heart started hammering. She looked so beautiful, in the light of the street lamp, I sighed. "God..I am such a freaking wimp!" I said out loud. I wanted to go outside, to walk with her, I looked at my clock, only 4 minutes left.. It's okay, right? The dye will probably be okay, it doesn't look like it's gonna rain. I dressed in my skull shirt, baggy pants, and put on my red sneakers. "Ma! I'm leaving for the carnival!" I yelled as I ran downstairs. I couldn't have my mom seeing my piercings, she'd freak, and she would waste my time by yelling at me. "Okay. Be back before midnight." She yelled from the kitchen. "Yeah. Yeah." I walked out the door before she could respond to my disrespectful comment.
I looked up and down the street, until I saw her, just 3 houses away from me. I ran up to her my heart beating faster. It's okay, she likes me, she can't deny it. And my awesome look would make it harder for her to deny it. But, the minute we were only 1 block apart, I felt rain pouring.
"Shit.."
Courtney's POV:
Rain immediately started pouring on me. I ran for shelter, and I found a canopy not to far away. I ran towards it as fast as I can. I could feel my mascara running down my face, and my hair was sopping. I sat under the canopy and started to cry. I looked like a mess. Valentine's Day was never a lucky day. I lost my sister. And now I just lost my chance to make Duncan like me. I sobbed into my dress, and jumped as I felt a hand on my shoulder. "You okay?" A voice asked me. I knew that voice, it was the voice that always made my heart race, the voice that always gave me butterflies. I turned around and looked into the teal eyes of Duncan.
Duncan's POV:
She was crying. I had to comfort her. She looked so sad. "It's nothing." She said, wiping her face. "You don't just cry because of nothing." I said, mustering up all my courage, and sitting down next to her. Courtney lifted up her head and looked into my eyes. My heart fluttered, she was beautiful, even when she had makeup running down her face. "It's just...Let's just say that I don't have to best luck on Valentines Day." She said, her voice hoarse. But she sounded amused..in a sad way. I looked at her in pity. She put her head in her hands, and I watched as more tears streamed down her face. I ran my fingers through my hair to find green gunk all over my fingers. Crap..I forgot that this stuff washes out easily.
"Well...I do.." I said, my voice trailing off. "Oh really? Because by the looks of it, you don't. You're bleeding a little bit on your lip, ear, and eyebrow. And your hair dye is running." She replied, observing me with her red eyes. "Well, the pain doesn't even compare to how lucky I am now." I said, smirking and staring at her, curiousity dawning on her face. "How are you lucky?" She sniffled. "Well.." I said, inching close to her face. "I'm talking to the most beautiful girl in the world.." I said. "And two..." I leaned in and kissed her on the lips. She widened her eyes and blushed, but she didn't fight back. "I got to do that."
Courtney's POV:
I was speechless. The boy I liked for 3 years KISSED me.. I didn't know what to say. He was smiling shyly at me, as if expecting me to storm off at any moment. But I didn't. I didn't want to. Instead, I just leaned forward and kissed him back. How long it lasted, I don't know. It felt like years, but here we were, still young. I finally took my lips off his and smiled at him. He grabbed my hand, and led me out from under the canopy. He walked me into a random stranger's lawn, and pointed at the sky, fireworks of different colors were exploding in the sky. Pink and purple. Orange..Yellow..Blue..beautiful.. But all these fireworks were nothing compared to the ones going off in my heart.
Becaused for once, in a long time. For once, in four years. For once, since Vanessa left...I felt loved on Valentine's Day..

Duncan's POV
"Hey Duncan! i saw you on the show!" My Best friend Alex said to me. "I know." Then suddenly, I saw someone VERY familiar come in through the doorways.could it be? no, no I don't remember her looking like that. Then I heard her gasp and she was coming my way. "DUNCAN! Oh my god I havn't seen you scince TDWT! You look great!" "Courtney? Is that you?" I couldn't reconize her. She looked so different! But in a good way.
Courtney's POV
I couldn't help but laugh. It's true. I actually have had many different looks over the years. "yep! It's me!" A guy next to him said, "Dude. You cheated on HER? Hi. I'm Alex." "It's very nice to meet you Alex. By the looks I'm assuming you two have known eachother for quite a long time?" They both said "yep" I said, "Well I guess I'll see you around." And walked away.
