The perfect family was over and the journey for one boy just beggining.
Roy was wanting, wishing, waiting.

"They do dangerous work and they dont want to involve others and make them worry." ---Maes Hughes ---episode 23
Why didnt Roy stay where he was?
Love made him move,
worry was his reason, his motivation for doing so.
Hitsuzen was not kind that day,
The day Love killed Hughes.
I cant say really what the relationship was between Roy and Maes, but Meas has saved him from commiting suicide and has slapped some sense into him in the past in which case, I would have to say, was acting like a brother. But by protecting roy from the truth of the matter he was acting more like a father.
Once in a lifetime someone like Hughes comes along just for the simple task of making everyone else's life better and no one recognizes that until....too late. In this case ,though, he was not yet done with the mission. As Elicia Hughes said:
"Wait why are they burrying daddy? He told me he still had work to do! Mommy stop them!"
He bragged on his daughter, Elicia, to take peoples' minds off of their troubles and he knew all too well the importance of raising a child in a loving home. For anyone who has watched Full Metal Alchemist, I think you know why i am going to close with this....
