OK, this fic is a little different for me because a.) the whole plot isn’t as fluffy as usual (although there is some!) b.) I’m going to be completely objective regarding ships, keeps everyone happy that way (almost!) c.) I’m not going to tell you the plot of it in the first chapter OR the summary! ;D
So, yes, you’ll have to find out later…
Enjoy for now! =D
House walks into the differential room late, as per usual, and without a single glance at his team, he balances his cane on the whiteboard and starts writing some symptoms down on the board.
The team exchange glances finding it odd that he hadn’t giving any of them a verbal wedgie or another one of his smarmy looks. Thirteen was about to say something but Foreman silenced her with a Houseian death glare, annoying her all the same.
Cuddy stormed into his office five minutes after he arrived and was positively fuming. Thirteen smiled slightly a little glad that someone would have a go at him, if she wasn’t allowed.
‘House!’
He ignored her and carried on writing.
‘HOUSE!’
He put down his pen and swung around as elegantly as anyone with a bad leg could and gave her a look which read WHAT!?! Still annoyed yet admittedly a little shocked that he didn’t actually comment about her ‘assets’ or call her ‘mummy’, she turned on her heel and walked out of his office. House couldn’t even bring himself to check her out as she walked away, shocking himself slightly.
‘Right…’ he began.
The team waited for him to say something and carry on.
‘House?’ Thirteen asked cautiously despite the fact that Foreman, Kutner and Taub were frantically motioning to her not to ask anything.
‘Umm…yeah…the patient has dizziness, vomiting and severe headaches…as far as we know.’
‘Does the patient have a name?’ asked Foreman in his usual tone.
‘The name’s not important!’ House countered a little too quickly for his team to actually believed he meant it this time. With that he walked out of his office, leaving the others understandably confused.
‘That’s weird…he doesn’t seem like his normal self today…’ Thirteen stated.
‘Yeah…do you guys think that something major happened…I mean, he didn’t even check Cuddy out!’
The rest of the team gave Kutner odd looks after that comment and he felt the need to explain himself.
‘Well…we all know he does it…and he didn’t leer at her or make any sexual jibes at her…’
‘Look, it’s probably just some pathetic game he’s playing with us. He probably just wants us to find out who this patient is ourselves; he knows we can’t diagnose without running any tests on the patient.’ Foreman added in a rational manner.
Soon after, House had come back into the differential room and looked at them all, one by one, with a sad, almost tearful, look in his eyes. He knew he had to tell them who the patient was soon enough, before they ran out of time, before it was too late. He wasn’t in the mood to let them think he was playing one of his childish games with them, even though it thoroughly amused him to no end.
‘Right, so here’s the case…’ he said quite simply waiting for a reaction before continuing. He wanted to make sure he had their undivided attention. He wanted to soak in their reactions when he told them, something he still found amusing.
‘Well…where is it…?’ Taub piped up eventually.
‘Here…’ That was all House said, he didn’t give them a single other clue, or so they thought initially.
I know, I know…I’m mean to leave you hanging like that but I would like to soak in your reactions! XD
