Seth watched all of their reactions all went from horror to sadness to determination.
“Well now we know and now we can change this” Misty said looking to each of them. Her eyes fell on Evan and she gasped.
“Hey sis” Evan greeted then Misty was in his arms there weren’t tears there was laughter and happiness.
“It’s really you” Misty giggled. Then she turned with an excited jiggle she ran to the cave.
“I got it, come everyone” Seth watched in awe as she ran into the cave and dove in the water not even bothering to take off her clothes. Seth was the first to follow.
Ten minutes later they were all through.
“Mist can you pick up a breeze and I will warm it we should dry off” Seth informed her which she obeyed quickly. Seth heated up the breeze and they were all dry in seconds then Seth looked around this is where his vision had taken place with one difference. There was no full moon, it was the sun.
Misty ran over to her tree and flew up to the first level sifting through the things in it with a delighted shout she turned holding several branches all sharpened to points then threw them to Seth.
“What are they for?” He asked she smiled then flew down to him.
“When I say go try and hit me” She commanded then took a few steps back then sat on the ground in the lotus position and levitated half a metre off the ground.
“I’m not going to hit you” Seth told her. Just the thought of hurting her made his stomach hurt. She turned her pearl- white eyes on him and smiled slightly.
“Do you trust me?” She asked. Seth didn’t even hesitate when he answered.
“Yes” her smile was bigger when she replied.
“Well then hit me when I say go” Seth looked at all of the others and they were focused on them both. None of them were willing to say a word.
“Go” Misty said so Seth swung the branch not really hard but not exactly softly either. It didn’t even get anywhere near her. It just hit an invisible wall half a metre away from her.
“Whoa” Onyx, Talia and Evan breathed whilst Avira and Mist’s dad cheered.
“How did you do that?” Seth asked he couldn’t help smiling at his girlfriend. This is one of the reasons I love her. He thought.
“It’s a force field of air. Do you remember at the beach with the sand storm?” She asked standing up and handing out the pieces of wood.
“Yeah I remember its how I—yeah I remember” he muttered feeling guilty about the scares he gave her.
“It's ok Seth, they were meant to be, well I remembered that and I thought if I could concentrate the air into a think ball around me then it will be hard to penetrate it will take practice because well it was hard enough to block that one even if it was an easy one...babe don’t go easy on me” she added then looked at him.
“Try it” She told him then stood back. He smiled cockily and started concentrating.

Onyx walked over to Evan and smiled at him.
“It’s been a long time Evan” He greeted them pulled him into a hug.
“yeah it has but I see you have looked after my sister well” Evan replied watching as Misty started hitting at Seth’s force field which was semi- visible wavering in and out of the colour red.
“She looked after herself, it took a while but she has found it. The family trait” Onyx commented. Evan looked at him sideways then smiled.
“It's the strength, your whole family inherited it but Misty just had to discover she had it. Judy almost tore her apart but she healed herself because she found it. Look at her, would you believe that last week she was willing to kill herself?” Evan gritted his teeth looking horribly upset.
“Judy she was such an evil woman. Mum was so upset when she found out what she was doing that was why I came. Mum took over my shift, she believes that if she saw Misty now she wouldn’t be able to leave and she has to at least until the transfers.” Evan explained which made sense.
“Oi Onyx you know I love you and all but you should be working on your force field or I am gonna have to whoop your ass” Misty yelled happily from across the field she even held up the stick for emphasis.
“Bring it on” Onyx shouted back then let her approach she gave it everything she had but she couldn’t get close to Onyx.
Breathing heavily Misty called a truce so Onyx put down his force field which Mist used to her advantage and struck Onyx on the shoulder. It wasn’t a hard hit but it still made him gasp and her laugh.

“Never let your guard down, you have to fight with everything you have and then some you did well, now try and hit me” Onyx tried for hours he jumped and pounced but Misty only smiled and fought him off each time. She was getting stronger.
“Get the others” She laughed, Onyx realized this was when his best friend was going to prove her worth, she was going to prove to not only Seth but to everyone that she wasn’t weak and that she wouldn’t die.
They all tried to get her. Onyx even snuck behind her but it was not use. She was powerful.
“Pair up, Onyx and Talia. Avira and Seth” Onyx obeyed Misty’s orders then went to a free space and started sparring with Talia. That was when Misty collapsed.

Misty laughed as they tried to hit her but her force field was strong. Then she started feeling the drain on her energy so she paired them off. She made it a few steps to her dad then she fell into darkness.
“She isn’t fragile” Seth was raging, there was worry in his voice but it gave way to anger.
“No she isn’t, she is very strong Seth she is as strong as me and you know I’m strong but something is draining her energy faster than what it should” Misty heard Avira explain to Seth.
“She is strong, she is ok and she is awake” Misty murmured sitting up. Fainting and collapsing was getting to be annoying.
“Where are the others?” She asked looking around to see them alone.
“Well your dad and brother had to go something about having to work. Talia and Onyx went off to get my mum” Avira explained. When Misty gave Avira a questioning look Avira rolled her eyes then explained nonchalantly.
“Mum’s a Succubus, she has powers, she will be able to see what’s drawing your energy away” Misty nodded then lay back. Her hair had various twigs in it and was so many colours she couldn’t even decide how she felt.
“Babe what’s wrong?” Seth asked taking her hand. She pulled away just enough to sit up then she leaned against him.
“Where’s mum? Why did Evan and Dad come but not her? Why do I lose my energy all the time? What’s happening to me?” she didn’t sound upset she sounded pissed which made her smile grimly.
“Your mum can’t see you yet because then she won’t be able to leave. She has to wait until the transfers” Onyx answered from behind.
“You're losing your energy because you have been infected with Incubus poison.” A woman who only could be known as Avira’s mum said. Misty looked at her in horror and fascination.
“I’m sorry?” She heard Seth almost shout.
“Hey I’m Tracy and I said that an Incubus has poisoned her. When you were fighting them do you remember exactly what happened?” Tracy asked her. Misty thought back but came up blank then she remembered.
“It tried to strangle me, which is impossible; it can’t cut off my air supply. But the back of my neck has been itching...” She trailed off. Then quickly stood up and pulled away her hair. Misty heard Seth swear under his breath and Tracy’s intake of breath. She felt along her neck and felt three dints. They felt like finger indents. How hadn’t she noticed them before?
“You have cuts where their nails dug in. It put the poison in the blood stream. It’s easy cured when you have a healer like Onyx” Tracy smiled and nudged Onyx gently forward. He placed his hands on Misty and she felt the power flow through her. It was hard to explain but it made her feel light and happy.
When he took his hands away Misty felt a lot stronger and ready for anything. She even levitated a few metres up. Then laughed.
“This is wonderful” She yelled then gravity hit and she fell back.
“Wait the incubus can poison us too? So if they get passed our force fields then cut our skin even if it’s a scratch we will be poisoned?” Tracy only nodded.

“That’s it!” Talia yelled pissed off.
“What’s wrong?” Onyx asked he seemed shocked by her outburst. She wasn’t usually like this and Talia knew it.
“How come they have all these advantages? Aren’t we magical what are ours? Instead we have visions coming from Seth saying we are doomed. Misty’s Dad saying we will fail and the only clue I have to defeating them is a riddle from the great oak in my backyard its ridiculous Misty are you strong enough to fight now?” Talia asked. Misty nodded and stood up.
“Good it’s time we prepared.” She growled and went to punch Misty who blocked it with her arm.
“Pick up the wood and start attacking” Misty yelled and she squared off Talia then brought the block down hitting and cutting up Talia’s arm.
“Misty don’t hurt her.” Onyx and Seth yelled but Talia had already sliced down Misty’s side.
“We need to prepare and if you’re not willing to get hurt in training then you’re not ready to go to war” Misty hissed then she turned and kicked her in the stomach pushing Talia back which made her double over in pain.
“Use your pain, use your frustration and attack” Misty ordered and dodged an attack from Talia she used all of her strength knocking Misty to the ground. Then both panting they lay next to each other and laughed.
“We can do this” Talia stated and she believed it with all of her heart. Talia looked up to see Onyx he looked so sad but at what she didn’t know. So she stood up and took his hand then led him into her section.
“What’s wrong?” she asked he looked at her and smiled.
“Can’t keep anything from you can I?” she grinned and shook her head.
“Nope, so what is it?” his smile faded.
“Don’t take this the wrong way but your strong, and serious and its weird seeing you this way, it makes me think that this up and coming battle is going to be bad because it’s going to change you” she looked at him then with a cry jumped into his arms.
“Nothing will change me I promise, I just am determined to beat these creatures so Avira and her family are safe” she re-assured

Avira and the group practiced for hours and when the saw the sun starting to set they packed up and started heading back. Misty’s dad had come back and was talking to Misty in front of her big tree.
“Sweetie remember how we spoke about how to get transferred here? Well we won’t be able to move here.” The dad was saying while Misty looked sadder.
“So there is no way you can come back?” she whispered.
“I’m death honey and the only way we could come back is if we moved to another town and we all started a new. Of course Evan, your mum and I wouldn’t have normal jobs and all that but it’s a possibility.” He added Avira gasped then looked over to see Seth walk away shaking his head. This was going to go badly.
“Dad I know that it seems like the only option but I have friends here, a small family and you’re not being replaced but I belong here, in Traverse, going to Traverse high and then Traverse uni this is where I’m supposed to be, but I will think about it, family comes first” Misty added then gave her dad a hug he didn’t see the tears sliding down her scarred cheeks.
Avira ran also she didn’t want to deal with this until she got home.
“Hey Avira did you want to come to the beach with me?” Talia called, she obviously had heard the conversation too.
“What for?” Avira snapped then instantly felt bad; when she was upset she went to her sarcasm.
“Ms. Watts, I was wondering if you wanted to come with me and send out some flowers onto the waves as a memorial to her, you know we are fighting this battle partly for her, she didn’t deserve to die” Talia whispered tears clouding her eyes.
“Yeah sure, she was an amazing woman” Avira replied then her mum told them from behind.
“I’m coming too, Ms. Watts is the reason Avira and I are alive today”
