Saved by the bell. Lisa couldn’t think of better time for Jen to arrive. She sensed what Hugh was trying to say, she didn’t exactly know what it was, but she knew it involved feelings. That was enough for her to want to run and now, that bell sounded, she was happy she could deal with Hugh… hopefully without emotions, later.
Hugh hated whoever it was on the other side of the door. He knew how much he was close to getting his Lisa out there, and now, it seemed like she was gone forever.
He was so close to saying everything her wanted and needed to say, everything just to keep her with him. He looked at her, trying to find the bits of the person he needed to surface. All she did was stand there, not getting the door. When he raised an eyebrow, trying to find an answer to why she wasn’t getting them, she sighed. Sigh of relief he could swear.

And then she moved, going around him and as she reached the door, she peeked through the hole. He followed her. When she saw who it was on the other side, she reached for the knob. However, she didn’t open them. Just as he was about to ask himself why was that, she shoved his back and gave him that urgent look. The one he saw million times before, when they got interrupted in her dressing room. The look that not so subtly screamed ‘HIDE’. He didn’t need more to be told, or rather, shown, and nodding, he quickly made to the stairs. He figured, Lisa would want the guest in the living room, so upstairs, he was safe.
Lisa let out another sigh of relief as she saw Hugh responding to their little ‘sign’. She was so scared he would at any time, open the door himself and embarrass both of them.
When she was sure he reached the first floor, she opened the door for the person, she looking through the peephole, knew was Jennifer. The young woman looked astonishing, even with just plain jeans and a blue T-shirt that read ‘Blond on the inside too’ across her chest. Lisa smirked at the sign immediately wishing she had changed before she arrived, a small sound of Hugh upstairs reminding her why she hadn’t. She shivered.

“Hey… what’s up?” Jennifer broke the silence as Lisa moved a little gesturing her to get inside. Not even a smile she got in return could put away the fact that she looked like she was ran over by a truck. She was still beautiful, though, Jennifer thought. But she was missing that familiar glow she always had, which simply gave away the bright personality that was Lisa. So, the urgent call Jen got that morning was completely explained. However, Jen couldn’t think of anything that could have such an impact on Lisa that it would take that glow away. Lisa nodded her to one of the comfy armchairs in the living room and Jennifer rushed to take a sear, being unable to hide the impatience.

Lisa felt her knees tremble as she took a seat opposite of Jen. She wondered if the beauty could see this herself and at the thought, she started trembling some more.
Before that, she tried hardly to hear any movement of Hugh’s above them. Nothing, That was good.
“I have a problem as I already told you… But I’m afraid I will have to share it with you later… Not now” she whispered, just in case Hugh tried to eavesdrop.
Jennifer shook her head. This was so wrong. She wanted to know what was all this about so badly.
“But you called me. I’m here now and I don’t understand why you’re whisp…” but she understood as she saw the picture in front of her. Lisa couldn’t see what Jennifer did and alerted by her sudden reaction, she turned in her chair to witness what Jen did.
Now, everything came in place in Jen’s head. Everything made sense. There were some unfilled holes, but pretty much was covered. The call Lisa gave her, the minutes between her ringing the bell and Lisa actually opening them, the missing of the glow, the usage of whisper.

Everything made sense as she took in the picture before her. Right there in the base of the staircase, stood no one other than the one who, Jen was strongly sure at the way Lisa was looking at him, took the glow away. Jennifer just never in her right mind expected that someone to be Hugh.

Dum dum dum duuuuuuuuuuuuuum XD

Jennifer could only imagine what was going on with these two. Sure she caught them in Lisa’s dressing room, something she now suspected were really awkward moments, even though she didn’t think of them as awkward until now. How long had this been going on?
