I have to applaud Taylor Swift for being honest about her last relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal and not letting him off the hook for breaking her heart!
Taylor Swift is never one to completely “out” her ex-boyfriends, but in her latest interview in Vogue she more than hints at the heartache caused by her last serious beau, Jake Gyllenhaal, and I’m impressed by her openness.
On paper (and let’s be honest, even off it), the 22-year-old singer has EVERYTHING — an overwhelmingly successful career, fashion sense, great friends, a supportive family and two well-decorated homes. It’s easy to think NOTHING would let her down, but she’s the first to point out that’s not the case.
When discussing her dating life, Taylor opened up about a dark moment last year — when Jake ended their relationship.
“I got nothing going on! I just don’t really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now, and I’m not sad and I’m not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that,” Taylor admitted, adding, “I am not gonna go into it! It’s a sad story!”
Maybe it’s just me, but I’m embarrassed when I get rejected by a guy, so I’ll never talk about it — much less announce it in Vogue. It was brave of Taylor to openly talk about something that failed in her world. Plus, she couldn’t help but throw another jab at Jake, who was obsessed with hiding their relationship.
“Also, I can’t deal with someone who’s obsessed with privacy,” she said. “People kind of care if there are two famous people dating. But no one cares that much. If you care about privacy to the point where we need to dig a tunnel under this restaurant so that we can leave? I can’t do that.”
At one point, Jake rented out an entire movie theater just so he and Taylor could watch a movie — and it wasn’t for the romantic factor ala Justin Bieber style. He didn’t want anyone knowing he was there with her. It’s almost like he was ashamed. So rude!
