Haruhi scratched her head, looking out at the window. She wasn't in a melancholic state, she was smiling, rather dreamily. When people called her name, she just smiled wider and mumbled to herself.
She was thinking about someone.
And his name was Itsuki Koizumi.
She and Itsuki's relationship had taken a turn. They had grown closer, and slowly Haruhi fell for him. At first she shrugged it off, and tried to avoid him. But this just made her fall harder for him.
Then the dreams started.
The dreams of her and him together, dreams of their wedding, dreams of them in complete harmony. And sometimes he'd pop up in one of those random dreams, like when she dreamed of a group of cats outside her window, and there was Itsuki, sitting and petting them. She walked over to him, and they talked about how cute and weird-looking the cats were, sharing a few laughs.
Then he kissed her.
It was long and soft, but it was still a kiss.
But, like the infamous dream that prevented Haruhi from ending the world, it was, alas a dream.
Haruhi woke up feeling sad that morning.
"Damn...that was such a great dream.."
She walked to school that day and came across a cat.
She blushed, seeing how it reminded her of the cat dream.
There were also those moments she wished would last forever. The ones in which Haruhi thought she was the luckiest person in the world, like when, for some strange reason she and Itsuki ended up separated from the rest of the Brigade, and were on a huge field of blue flowers. He had given her one, and she had started crying. "I-I'm such an idiot, why am I crying?" She asked herself.
She was crying because she had always wanted this to happen.
Itsuki put her arms around her and held her close. Haruhi pinched herself, but she didn't wake up.
This was not a dream.
After that moment, she always blushed when she saw a blue flower.
Haruhi went to the clubroom that day, promising herself she was going to make the dream of being with Itsuki a reality. She opened the door and smiled. "Koizumi," She called as Itsuki turned to her, smiling. "Yes, Miss Suzumiya?"
"I have something to tell you.."
