End of Chapter 23
***Jasper's POV***
"Jasper, where is Edward?" Alice asked, panic in her voice.
"He's probably on his way here, why?"
"She's going to die, you have to stop this." She gasped.
"What? Who?"
"The girl, the one with the brown hair! The one who Edward needs, oh Jazz you have to stop them." Alice cried.
"What's going to happen?"
"I don't, it doesn't make sense!" She yelled. "How can one person get in so much trouble!?"
"Alice?"
"Sorry, you have to find Edward...nevermind I'll call him. Love you and I'll see you sooner then you know." She said as she hung up before I could say anything. Almost like it was all planned Edward walked into the woods at the same time I hung up, and I was just about to tell him what Alice had told me when his phone rang and everything was set into motion.
Chapter 24
***Edward's POV***
I ran through the woods as fast as I could, ignoring Jasper's yells until I got to the edge of the forest. I went to step out into the street when I felt Jasper's hand wrap around my upper arm, pulling me back with all of his strength. I turned to hit him, to punch him as hard as I could so he would let go of me.
"Edward!" He yelled as he squeezed my arm. "Edward stop, think about this."
"NO!" I screamed as I tried to pull my arms free, but he held on tighter.
"Edward, open your eyes, look around." He said as I felt his hands loosen a little. "The sun."
I looked from his face back to the street that was mere feet from where I stood. I looked up at the sky which had been cloudy was a pristine blue, the sun a burning orb in the sky. I knew what Jasper was talking about, that I couldn't go running out into the sun without drawing attention that I didn't have time for.
I took a deep breath, doing my best to calm myself as Jasper watched me carefully, obviously monitoring my emotions as they changed. Jasper's eyes narrowed at me as I did my best to calm down, I realized that we would have to work together to get through this.
"What did Alice tell you?" I asked as I turned and walked a bit further into the woods.
"She didn't say much, just that she saw the girl.."
"Alice saw her dying." I said finishing what he could not say. "Did she give you and detail?"
"No, Edward I'm sorry she didn't." He said as he looked down at the ground. "But...Alice said she would see us sooner then we thought."
"Alice is coming here?" I asked in disbelief.
"I think so."
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and instantly dialed Alice's number, smiling as she answered the phone with, "Yes Edward."
"Alice, have you seen anything else?"
"No, I keep looking but there is nothing." She said, sounding discouraged.
"What exactly did you see?" I asked.
"I saw the girl you met, with tow people who I would assume are her parents. They were walking along an alley when they hear something, the mother wants to go investigate. They go down the alley and are attacked. I can't tell you anything else, I don't know her, it's hard to get a lock on her future." Alice said quickly, blurring her sentences together because of her anxiety.
"An alley?" I asked as I thought of the size of this town.
"Yes, I'm sorry I can't narrow it down anymore."
"It's ok, thanks Alice." I said as I remembered something Jasper had mentioned. "Oh Alice, Jasper said you were going to see us soon?"
"Yes, Emmett, Rosalie and I are coming down. We can't allow this to happen, we can't sit by while someone gets hurt by one of our kind." She said, the conviction in her voice was nothing to doubt. "We'll see you soon, don't go looking for trouble until we get there."
"Yeah, right." I said, knowing that Jasper and I wouldn't be waiting for her, Emmett and Rosalie.
"I mean it Edward, don't go looking for trouble."
"Yes Alice." I said as I ended the call and turned to look at Jasper. "Let's go."
