*This is a remake of Kuroshitsugi episode 5 using sophisticated speech of that not found in the manga; no characters belong to me*

The girl's arms and hands struggled to get free. A knot in the shape of a cross latched her wrists together on the back of the chair. She was confused and choked with fear. A cloth was shoved between her teeth and tied to the back of her head. With ruined makeup that lathered her teal eyes, she wept. A dark shadow came forth and buried her in darkness. It crouched down and removed the cloth, but briskly put a long, pale finger to it's lips, hissing her to be silent. As she held back more frightened tears, it smiled with a mouth full of sharp jagged teeth, and let out a horrible laugh that rang throughout the streets of London.
A steady rain dripped upon a crinkled newspaper that read: "Jack the Ripper Strikes Again!"

"This isn't the time to be playing chess." Ciel scoffed, watching his Aunt pick up her piece and place it to another location on the wooden board that sat between the two of them. Madam Red smiled thoughtfully and said to her nephew,
"Nothing good comes of overexerting yourself. Why not leave it to Sebastian?"
Behind Ciel's chair his butler stood gallantly, dusting shelves and observing books without a care. Ciel did not give him a glance.
"He is nothing more than one of my pawns. It's me who gives the orders and moves him." he picked up his own game piece and slowly scanned the board with his eyes, one blue, the other covered by an eye-patch. "However, he is not a normal pawn. He is a pawn that can get across the whole board in one move. Like this." Ciel, with his black, knocked the Madam's white to the floor. She gasped and raised her voice in a concerned tone, not bothering to pick up the piece but grabbing another and commenced her second move,
"Isn't that against the rules?"
"Yes, if it was a game we were talking about. However, rules hold no meaning in the real world. There will inevitably be knights who break the rules, and pawns who disobey orders. If you let your guard down for even a second," Ciel continued with a bland look and a black in his hand, "... You'll be in checkmate."

The girl's blonde, wet hair fell loosely over her beautiful face. Out of the rain at last, she watched helplessly as the figure's stiff heels clicked across the room and picked up a small circular box that flipped open. Striding back, it's fingers controlled a paintbrush that licked at the inside of the box and painted a blood red on her lips. The girl flinched at the touch of the liquid and her eyes widened. The figure let out an angry "Tch," and scowled at the smeared gloss. Lightening flashed, illuminating a black case filled with sharp cutting tools.

"There should be many ways for you to live," said Madam Red in her seat, "that don't involve you being the underworld's guard dog. My sister, your mother, would have wanted that for you as well. Even so, the reason you have returned to this underworld is that you want revenge for the death of your parents, isn't it?"
Ciel innocently sipped his tea, then placed it on the empty table.
"Even if you exact revenge, it will not bring back those who have died, nor will it bring happiness to them. But... I did not return to the ways of the Phantomhives because of the previous generation." the twelve year old touched his blue diamond ring softly, then glared at his Aunt. "I did it for myself, in order to bestow the same pain and humiliation I felt upon those who betrayed us and sullied the Phantomhive name."
Madam Red smiled to herself.
"I still remember the day you were born." she mumbled, standing up and walking to Ciel's side. "You were so small and fragile, and you brought out my protective instinct." she put her hand lightly to his navy hair, seeming like she was going to cry, but didn't. "I was unable to have children, but I really do think of you as my own son. If possible, I'd like you to take your leave of..."
Ciel closed his eyes surely and pushed her arm away.
"The reason I'm doing this now is down to my own wishes and choices." he looked at Madam Red and said sternly, "I do not regret it, nor do I wish to be indulged out of pity. Not by anyone."

"I'll be fine from here, Sebastian." she said. Sebastian's lingering gloved hand dropped to his side.
"But..."
Her gazed fixed seriously upon him, adjusting her red coat. "Please do not stray from that child's side, so he does not wander off his path and get lost."
The butler, clad in black, smirked and kneeled with his head down in front of her. "I shall, without fail." he said. "I intend to stay and protect him until the end."
When a small knock seemed to nervously rap the door, Sebastian pulled it open to find Grell Sutcliff, a butler in training, holding a dark umbrella over his head. He had the look of a butler, but not the attitude. He was weak, delicate. With large circular glasses and black hair tied back into a ponytail down his back. He followed Madam Red like a wimpy, diminutive puppy.
"I have come to pick you up, Mistress." his shaky voice exclaimed through the patter of the rain. Madam Red looked back at Sebastian, and they smiled at each other. His a fake, warm grin, and hers a plain one that caused the skies to flash with more lightening.
