Music Article: Can Music REALLY Save Your Mortal Soul?

Music, it's just not a word that means a catchy sound, it means many things. Life, love, pain, tears, smiles, anything you want it to be.

Many people know the song "American Pie" by Don McLean and one line is "Can music save your mortal soul?" That line speaks the truth. Without music, what would this world be? Music is in everything. Heck, you can't even watch a TV without background music. Or you can't walk out of a baseball game without a man playing The Simpsons theme song on a trumpet. It brings joy to people in their everyday lives.

My dad took my older brother and I to a Bruce Springsteen concert when I was seven. It was my first concert and I knew that rock was going to be my favorite type of music for as long a I lived. Now it's been fourteen years since that concert and now my favorite band is Guns N Roses and many others.

Without music, what would this world be? It saves the world from dullness.

So the question is: Can Music Save Your Mortal Soul?

timbitzk I say yes too. It's like that show on MuchMusic, [i]Music Saved My Life[/i]. It tells people's stories about how listening to a certain band/genre/etc got them through a rough time or helped them cope with a difficult situation. Personally, I could [i]not[/i] live without music. I'm positive about that. Good article. :)

funnyshawna yes. definitely. music is my life, basically. if there was no music...life would suck. badly. i never go anywhere without my music...and when i can't listen to it, there is always a song playing in my head. i dont see how anyone could not like music... that's what i think great article.
