Good Deeds x 2 + Pity Points - Evil Deeds = V
Good Deeds x 2 + Pity Points - Evil Deeds = V
We all agree that the the villains of OUAT are evil despicable human beings. So why to we love them so much and more inportantly who is the most likable? The discussion has been going on since the beginning of the show. We all have our favorite villain. It doesn't matter if your team Rumple or team Gina our bias tends to send reason running out the door. Well, I've created a solution that can't be disputed. Why? Because it's math. My villainy equation removes all the favoritism and bias and leaves only the truth. The truth behind why we love these truly despicable people so very much.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1 -

I made a list of all the reasons a villain should be hated as well as the reasons they should be liked and pitied.

The Evil Deeds are measured on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being most evil (i.e. killing someone) and 1 being least evil (i.e. lying)*

The Good Deeds are measured on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being most good (i.e. Saving a life) and 1 being least good (i.e. showing remorse)*

*If a large amount of people were involved double it.

The Pity points are measured on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being most tragic (i.e. unhappy childhood) and 1 being least tragic (i.e. lost something they liked)

Love Rules (it has its own rules):

Breaking a heart = 10
Unconditional love = 10
Showing love = 5
Losing a love = 10
Not being loved by someone they love = 10

Step 2 -

We all know that when something awful happens to someone we like it feels worse then if it happens to someone we don't like. So, when someone is wronged/assisted their likability is measured on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being most likable 3 neutral and 1 being least likable and added to the score.*

This means that lying to Belle (1+5x2= 12) can be just as evil as killing Milah (5+1x2= 12)

*If they wrong a person that they love double it.

Example -

Killed her father = 5+4x2 = 18

Regina kills her father - (1) murder is a 5 on the evil scale (2) add Henry's likability which is around 4 (3) and then double that number becaus she loved him. = 18

Rumple Rules:

Subtract 1 for every evil deed he does as the Dark One.

Any deeds (good or bad) that he does as part of a bargain is disqualified.

To find the villains likability number use this equation:

Good Deeds x 2 + Pity Points - Evil Deeds = V

Here’s how it works:
Everyone knows that one good deed is worth two bad deeds when it comes to our villains so double the good deeds total.

Then add the pity points and subtract the evil deeds.

The villain with the lowest number is the most horrible unforgivably evil human being.

The higher the number the more admirable/relatable the person and they should be worshiped for they can do no wrong.

They've enjoyed their place on a pedestal for along time now but lets award it to them officially...

The Once Upon a Time - Best Villain Ranking

1st place - Rumple with 127 points
2nd place - Regina with 122 points
3rd place - Jefferson with 52 points*
4th place - Hook with 33 points*
5th place - Cora with -123 points

*This equation does not account for the sexiness factor

If you’d like to do the math yourself go ahead. There is no black and white just many shades of gray. Where do the OUAT villain end up on you ranking?

Edit: I added in the events of 'The Outsider' and that sent Rumple's score from 96 up to 127 placing him just 5 points above Regina (It's really neck and neck in the Gina/Rumple smackdown now). Hook also went down 10 points from 43.

First and foremost Regina has done so much more good than he has. Regina spent 2 seasons working at redemption and I think it paid off whereas Rumple is still lying through his teeth to Belle about how he's a changed man as he goes off to murder Zelena...the woman Regina spared and actually kind of saved. Regina's redemption arc has been really successful to this point. Rump's was a joke. Okay he stabbed Pan and saved everyone at the cost of his own life. That was the right thing to do. However he turned around and went for vengeance again, something Neal wouldn't have wanted done in his name....

5. Ruby
I love her because she has gone through SO much and she's still one of the kindest/sweetest people in town. That makes her incredibly strong. She's unconditionally helpful to others. Even people she doesn't know that well or people she doesn't seem to like much. She's also such a loyal friend (especially to the Charmings and to Belle). Plus, she is full of personality and I love her bold style. And whenever she shows up on screen working as a waitress I get reminded to "Twin Peaks", which is something I love. She grabs all the attention. Ruby is also sassy and sexy without even having...

This is a glossary of sorts to my article "Is Killing Ever Justified?". Please read it first link.

OUAT Legal Dictionary

"There are actually 4 kinds of homicide: Felonious, accidental, justifiable, and praiseworthy. It makes little difference to the victim which sort they die of; the classification is mostly for the benefit of lawyers."

By US definition:

homicide n. the killing of a human being due to the act or omission of another. Included among homicides are murder and manslaughter, but not all homicides are a crime, particularly when there is a lack of criminal intent. Non-criminal homicides...

I expect this will get quite a bit of criticism, so a disclaimer before I start: it is not my intention to bash Neal. I'm trying not to find reasons which aren't there and if I saying anything untrue, feel free to correct me. Please don't complain if I say things you just don't like, but if I get something specifically canonically wrong, tell me so.

This post is me trying to articulate exactly why it is I'm not fond of Neal. I'm simply trying to just lay out what it is about him that irks me while being as objective and impartial as I can. Some of this post will overlap with other articles and...

Did anyone else see the parallels between the compass in "Tallahassee" and the magic bean in "...And Straight On 'Til Morning"?

Both the bean and the compass are necessary tools to travel between the worlds and are a symbol of hope. Both items take a lot of hassle to procure - climbing the beanstalk and fighting the giant for the compass and growing and fighting Tamara and Greg for the bean.

In "Tallahassee" Emma has the compass and refuses to let Hook hold it before deciding to not to risk trusting him and chaining him up. She couldn't risk trusting him because she had to get back to Henry....

"1. Launches himself on a vengeance quest - first thing to do is going to the “eternal kindergarden” where he constantly gets his ass kicked by a little boy with the yellow bug and his gang.

2. Comes back from Neverland - only to be pushed around by bitchy mother and daughter, and eventually gets frozen for 28 years.

3. Upon coming back to life, pretends to be a simple blacksmith - gets chained to a tree by a group of girls.

4. Constantly makes innuendo jokes, hits on each and every female in sight - didn’t get one to actually fall for it.

5. Busies himself making rape jokes to impress...

After saw the set pict, I have some question and this are some theories to answered that question, I hope you enjoy read it

1. Why emma the one who meet him in NY? Nael got the postcard, I honestly though after he receive that postcard, he immediately fly to storybrooke and search for emma

Theory 1
nael decide to move on. He doesn't know about henry and decided that emma is his past and need to stay as his past.

Theory 2
he feel guilty and can't face emma yet

2. Why emma in NY? why she willingly leave her family and storybrooke to meet someone who broke her heart?

Theory 1
He called and ask her...

I think in the end we will find out Rumple manipulated the whole thing...Even down to Daniel's death by Cora and Regina's hatred of Snow..etc. Remember without the prior events, the Dark Curse, Invented by Rumple, would never have been used.

I think in the end Rumple will be the true villain, not Regina.

I agree. I think Rump knew Cora before Regina was even born. Since the show likes to remind us (read: drill it into our heads) that "evil isn't born, it's made" I think we will eventually see how Rumpel "made" Regina evil, possibly orchestrating...

My idea of a cool episode for OUAT is:

Cora uses a fireball spell to cast Regina's house on fire after evilly criticising her in Storybrooke and traps her inside the house.

Meanwhile Henry and Emma are watching the news and hear of a 'house fire in Storybrooke' and how a woman was trapped in the blaze! Henry and Emma
are shocked! Emma went to investigate (because it's her job as sheriff). Henry sneaks out after her to see if his other mum is okay, even though he thinks she's 'evil.'

Emma Spots Cora leaving Reginas house and questions her about the fire. Cora says cunningly: "Thats what she deserves!"...
