Shailene Woodley and One Direction were the toast of the 2014 Teen Choice Awards.

The actress and her The Fault in Our Stars co-star Ansel Elgort scooped the competition in the movie categories, winning prizes including choice movie lip-lock.

Shailene also took home choice drama and action movie actress for Divergent, while Ansel won choice drama movie actor and breakout movie star.

One Direction, who were unable to attend the ceremony while on tour, meanwhile took home eight prizes, including choice music group.

Selena Gomez took home the Ultimate Choice Award, as well as female hottie.

She follows in the footsteps of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Reese Witherspoon with the former prize.

Demi Lovato, who won choice summer song and also performed at the event, took the opportunity to inspire fans.

“I want you guys to know that instead of just getting up here and saying a speech, every single one of you deserves to have a happy and incredible life, so be the best you can be in everything because your dreams can come true if you work hard for them," she said.

Other performers included Magic!, Rixton, Becky G and Jason Derulo, who performed hit single Talk Dirty.

Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland co-hosted the ceremony, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
