The Lesser Known Effects of Global Warming.

peacebaby7 LOL, glad that's just a joke. Although, I learned in Biology this year that the ice caps are melting. Within 50 years, scientists predict ocean levels to raise considerably, cutting miles off available land. They've already found dead polar bears that have drowned because there wasn't enough ice for them. :(

27Kowalski @PB: I'm sorry to hear that. :( *sigh* Sadly, there isn't much we can do about it.

peacebaby7 @27K: Actually, there is. According to science, if enough people in the world adhere to the 3R's, use more energy-efficient products and cars, and do whatever necessary to reduce the amount of CO2 in the air as much as possible, it can help regulate the earth again. It would take a while, but it's better than not at all.

27Kowalski @PB: Let's just hope more people in the world will do what you said. And then, come on, I mean, why people have to be so ... careless? It's planet Earth after all, it's your planet, you LIVE here. If it goes down, you go down with it.

peacebaby7 @27K: True, very true. But, to be fair, there are other reasons other than just being careless. First, these wacko global patterns and their causes were only discovered in recent years. Second, there are those who think it isn't as bad as some people say without doing any actual research (which, yes, is a bit careless). And lastly, if you're like me, you can't afford fuel efficient cars and stuff like that. I do conserve as much energy as I can in my house though. If you look up Al Gore's [i]An Inconvenient Truth[/i] on YouTube, he does a [i]fantastic[/i] job of explaining global warming, its effect on earth, and how we can stop it. I will warn you, however, as it is quite long.

peacebaby7 @27K: It's a bit broken up; if you have Netflix, you can watch the whole thing through with the pieces that are missing on YouTube. I know a lot of people—mainly in America—find Al Gore a bit untrustworthy, and for good cause, but this overview of global warming is actually quite believable and interesting. I also decided to put a little PSA on my FanFiction if you want to check it out.

Skilene17 The issue of Global Warming really makes my blood boil, I just can't wrap my head around why with all of the information and technology we have, we are not doing anything about it, we are not even trying to find ways to cut back our CO2 levels and reduce Green house gases. Everyone has a license, no one carpools anymore so that adds to the pollution eating away at the Ozone layer. I mean come on people it's just going to worse, our summers are already brutal, our winters are getting colder, why aren't we doing anything about it?!. The ice caps are melting and will wipe out cities, I should know I learned all about it in Earth Systems. We know it's going to happen so why do we continue to ignore the fact?!. @peacebaby7: I have seen ' An Inconvient Truth' it's quite good Also have you noticed there's four Penguins in the first frame, but only three in the second?. One must have died, poor guy it was probably Rico.

peacebaby7 @Skilene17: Same here. The fact is that most people either don't realize it's happening, don't believe it's happening, or don't WANT to believe it's happening. One of my best friends doesn't believe it's happening because the winters are actually colder. Well, they're shorter too. It's kind of annoying when people try to argue that.
