Amid the latest rumors that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may be getting back together and in light of the recently released link, we’d like to hear your thoughts. Do you think these two should rekindle their former romance, or should Selena throw him back for good?
Here are five reasons why we think Selena should live a Biebs-free life:
1) His Legal Troubles
With reports of Biebs’ dangerous speeding, we’d be more hesitant about getting in a car with him. Plus, that whole suspected egging thing is rather juvenile, and don’t even get us started on the alleged drug use.
This was the year of the Biebs’ first arrest (for suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with an expired license (over six months) and resisting arrest without violence), though he has had run-ins with the law before that. In 2013, his tour buses were raided in both Detroit and Sweden. Bieber was not present for the raids that ultimately unearthed unnameed drugs and a stun gun in Sweden, as well as marijuana in Detroit. That same year, Biebs was also charged with vandalism in Brazil. Recently, Biebs turned himself in for allegedly assaulting a limo driver, an incident that took place last year.
2) They Already Broke Up - Twice
Anyone who has ever gone back to an ex can tell you that, most of the time, it’s more of a bad idea than a good one. To paraphrase Dawson’s Creek, if you weren’t strong enough as a couple the first time around, chances are good that you’re not going to make it through a second round either. This is the surest way to end up in an “It’s Complicated” relationship status on Facebook. Do you really want to waste years of your life being on and off again?
While it works for some folks, most of us need to move on from what once was in order to work toward what’s better. As it is, Selena and Biebs already broke up twice before, the first time being in November of 2012, and the second after their short reconciliation in January of 2013. If they really are becoming more than friends yet again, history dictates that this go ‘round won’t last long either.
3) That Whole Stripper Thing
We don’t know about Selena, but if we saw our exes in a photo online like this one, there’s no way we could ever even kiss him again, much less be in a serious relationship with him. While some people can be rather forgiving, actions like this prove that the Biebs may still have a lot more growing up to do.
4) He’s Been Known to Lose His Temper
Between the reported fight at a nightclub in August of 2013 and the infamous video of his screaming at a photographer earlier that year, the Biebs seems to have trouble keeping his anger in check, especially considering the latest incident involving the Miami paparazzo who’s suing him for battery, claiming that Biebs ordered one of his bodyguards to beat him up.
5) He May Be of the “Kiss-and-Tell” Variety
The internet exploded last month with the news that Biebs was supposedly telling everyone about how Selena gave him her v-card, reportedly saying that he knew she was in love with him when she said yes. The deed was allegedly done in the summer of 2011 on a mini-vacation to Palm Springs - details that, if true, should not be common knowledge to anyone with an internet connection, and it would probably make us want to crawl up in a hole somewhere.
Sorry, but this is just too much of a headache for any girl, and it’s an unnecessary one at that. Selena is a beautiful girl who can get any man she wants. She certainly doesn’t need the extra stress that can come from these kinds of situations.
