In The End It Should Be Okay Chapter 16
I got in line for lunch. Damon came up and hugged me from behind.
Hey Lilly. He said.
Hey Damon. I said.
I leaned against him and looked up. I smiled.
So how was house hunting? He asked.
"It wasn't that bad. I found a house I like but it's out in the woods and it's a little too modern for me"
In the woods? He asked.
Yep but I get my own balcony, if we get the house. I said.
"Cool"
We sat down with the rest of crew.
Hey Lilly. What's up? Tom asked.
Nothing, being forced to come to school when I have skipped half a day. I said.
That's so stupid. Jake said.
"I know"
We ate our lunch and than the guys got up and kicked the ball around. I finished my lunch and joined their game.
We played the hacky sack game but with a soccer ball. It was pretty fun until the bell rang. School was suh a drag.
We're home. Alex and I yelled at the same.
Mom came running into the living room.
What's wrong? Alex asked.
Nothing, I have great news! Mom yelled.
Oh no. I groaned.
What is it? Alex asked curious.
We got the house! Mom said excitedly.
Which one? I asked.
"The one that you liked"
Oh cool. I said.
Yeah, so go start packing. Mom demanded.
But I thought we weren't going to live with them until you got married. I said.
I know but the wedding is only a week away. Mom said.
Oh joy. I muttered.
I know right. Mom said.
(L) I'm moving. I am literally having to pack now. I texted Damon.
(D) So soon?
(L) I know. She is getting married in a week. I thought it was another month!
(D) I have to go, ttyl
(L) bye
Damon never said bye to me unless I was the first one to go but oh well.
Where do I even start? I don't know what I should pack first. I found books and packed them up in a box, Mom had stuck in my room. I packed up stuff I never used which ended up being a lot of junk. I throw away some stuff and gave a bunch of clothes to the good-will.
I didn't even know why I was packing. I mean it's not like it would be soon.
Honey, we are going to start taking some stuff to the new house tomorrow since it is move in ready. Mom said.
I was wrong. I mumble.
About what? Mom asked confused.
"Nothing"
I packed more stuff up and took down stairs so it could be loaded into the car tomorrow.
Wow, I thought you would wait till the last minute to pack. Alex said.
I thought so too. I sighed.
I walked out the front door and sat on the swing set in the front yard.
May I join you? Jeremy asked.
Yeah sure. I said.
What's up? You missed half a day of school. He asked.
Mom made me go house hunting. I said.
"Oh"
Yeah, we went today and we found a house. I am already having to pack my stuff up. I said.
Oh well that's cool. I better go, my parents will wonder why it's taking me so long to take the trash out. He said.
Okay bye. I said.
I got up and started walking down the street. I didn't pay attion to were I was going. I never did, I knew my way home from anywhere.
I went down to the beach, it was crowded for a school night.
I couldn't believe that I would be moving soon! This was not going to be fun. Alex wouldn't be at the new house. I had my own bathroom but I couldn't stand in the bathroom and watch Alex sleep. I know that you think it is weird but Alex is the spiting image of my Dad. I couldn't run to Alex's bedroom and jump on him to wake him up on Saturday afternoon.
It was chilly for a summer night so I headed back home. This was going to be a bitter-sweet weekend for me.
I got in line for lunch. Damon came up and hugged me from behind.
