Eric Satterberg
Eric Satterberg
Actor ERIC SATTERBERG will go from one extreme to the other with his two upcoming television roles. Up first, he’ll die a horrible death on the series finale of Spike TV’s “1000 Ways to Die,” scheduled to air on April 30th; and then later this year he’ll go for gut-busting laughs with an appearance on Nickelodeon’s award-winning kid favorite, “iCarly.”

I recently caught up with this hard working actor and had a chance to ask him about these roles, his favorite TV shows and more.

HOLLY: Tell us a little about your role on “1000 Ways to Die.”

ERIC: I play Ira. He is a little strange and a hypochondriac times 10. He hates germs and does everything he can to keep from being infected by anything. However he is lonely...and Jewish...so he goes on J-Date and finds a date. Meanwhile, in his brain is an organism that is nested because of not using filtered water from a Neti pot. He discovers this after...well you’ll just have to wait and see…

HOLLY: Did you have fun playing out your death? Or was it weird to fake dying?

ERIC: I had an awesome time dying. I got to lay back and just close my eyes. The only hard/strange part was the blood they injected into my nose. That felt weird.

HOLLY: Tell us a little about your role on “iCarly.”

ERIC: Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and Sam (Jennette McCurdy) take a road-trip to Las Vegas where Sam’s saucy mother is being held in a Las Vegas jail, along with some other sketchy characters including ME. I lick a wall on the show. It’s a small role but hopefully will be a real fun moment for audiences when they see it. It’s something I don't think I have ever done before in my life!

HOLLY: Any stories you can share with us from behind the scenes?

ERIC: The cast and crew seemed very tight and fun. I did not want to leave the atmosphere. I was grateful to be a part of their team for the few days I was there.
HOLLY: Do you like comedy or drama better?

ERIC: I like comedy that is like Louis CK or Woody Allen…it’s very funny, but also very HUMAN and honest. I prefer to be a part of projects that reveal honesty and sincerity, which usually ends up being hysterical because it’s true and based in reality.

HOLLY: What’s your favorite television show?

ERIC: My current favorite TV show is “MAD MEN.” Every episode this season has been better than the last, especially the most recent episode where Roger drops LSD. What was revealed between Roger and his wife was very funny, but also very sad. Plus the style and whole attitude of the show is so arresting.

HOLLY: Do you have anything else coming soon that we can watch for you in?

ERIC: Yes…look out for my performance on TruTV's “Operation REPO” where I get my hot dog cart repossessed. And, I'll also be appearing as Garth in a Parody of “Wayne’s World.”

We’ll be keeping our eye out for you, Eric! Especially to catch you licking a jail cell wall – funny…but YUCK!

Friends often arise when you least expect them. The CBS sitcom “United States of Al” chronicles the unlikely friendship between a combat veteran and an interpreter from Afghanistan, who helped the former while he served in the Marines, but now find themselves trying to readjust to normal life in Columbus, Ohio.

Actor Jimmy Walker, Jr. recently appeared in a recurring role as ‘Walt’, a military veteran who hangs out at the local bar, on the new show from executive producer Chuck Lorre and creators David Goetsch and Maria Ferrari.

This isn’t the first-time audiences have seen Jimmy. His...

Most people love a classic ‘who-done-it’ type of story. Investigation Discovery (ID) has been playing into that by serving up true-crime tragedies with their popular series link

Actress link has appeared in not one, but two episodes of this homicidal re-enactment show about friends murdering friends. The most recent titled “Band of Brothers,” finds Christine as a single mother faced with the brutal death of her son.

Of course, Christine has done some other stuff, too. She can be seen on the festival circuit right now in the dark comedy “Jesse’s Girl,” and she’s shooting a recurring...

Space Ghost Coast to Coast is a classic Cartoon Network show that has both animation and live action. The show stars Space Ghost who is also the star of a Hanna-Barbera action show.

The Plot:

Space Ghost becomes a talk show host. His enemies join him on the show. Zorak works on music and Moltar's the producer. Space Ghost has eccentric adventures with his guests and enemies.

This show may not be that plot heavy, but I don't think that it was trying to be. It's meant to be a weird and crazy animated show and it does that quite well. The show may lack a real plot, but some episodes sort of a...

My main objective in writing this article is to introduce to the new generation of t.v. viewers, about Mel's Diner, from the Classic C.B.S. television show "Alice", which ran from 1979 to 1985, starring Linda Lavin and veteran actor Vic Tayback.

The folks at the real Mel's Diner were gracious enough to send me an official copy of their menu for this article. For that I am grateful.

The World Famous Mel's Diner is opening Serving Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Patrons are able to Dine In or Take out, according...
