Meanwhile, in the outskirts of Dublin, Adam was still on the run from the wrath of the hairdresser. However, he had become exhausted and didn't have any other option but to rest for a while. He said as he lied down on the grass, "I can't believe it. I just can't believe it! I've been given a verbal thrashing by one of the members of that insect band! Oh, well. Why bother? That bird really needs him more at the end of the day. Now, I hope the hairdresser won't find me here..." He then fell asleep. Unfortunately, more trouble was around the corner. You see, this grassy area is actually close to a berry patch which a group of foxes have marked as their territory, and they certainly weren't happy to see an intruder when they came to get some food. By that point, Adam had woken up and was shocked upon finding himself being surrounded by them. "What the...?", he thought. One fox made a noise that sounded like she was saying, "Where did you come from?! Go away, or we will attack you!" Adam, of course, didn't understand this. Nevertheless, he decided to resume his attempt to escape. Though he was in such a hurry should the foxes chase after him that he ended up running back towards the city and bumped right into the hairdresser, who was still VERY cross! Adam said quietly, "Uh, oh...Wrong way..." The hairdresser remarked, "So, you dared to rush off after trespassing on our beautiful garden, naughty boy?! Not anymore! You've earned your much-needed punishment!" Hearing those words, a completely terrified Adam tried to reason with her and replied, "Look, it wasn't my fault! The timing of my landing went the wrong way! Trust me!" But the hairdresser remained unconvinced. "I beg to differ!", she declared. Then, with a mighty force, she belted Adam with her watering can which sent him flying and screaming like a schoolgirl. The hairdresser said, "Heh! That'll teach him good." And she walked back to the salon. Adam eventually landed on a lone steep hill that was located even farther from the city, and with no quick way to go down, he'll likely stay there for the rest of his pathetic life.

Well, well, well, Adam surely had a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day since George and (to an extent) the savage hairdresser taught him a lesson he won't forget! After all, that's what he gets for abusing a lovely lady like Pattie, whom he never deserved in the first place. With his comeuppance completed, we will rejoin our heroes in the next chapter!
