I lay down on a soft bed in the Minerva cabin- a bed I now call mine. We’d just arrived at the Roman Camp, and I hated it. Every single inch. But…was I just so sour because Percy didn’t remember? Jason remembered some things! But Percy was clueless. I squeezed my eyes shut, I put my headphones in, and cranked up the music.

You were in college working part time waitin’ tables
Left a small town, never looked back
I was a flight risk with a fear of fallin’

The moment I can see it.

I remember the first time I saw Percy. I kinda zoned out, just for a second. Saw me with him. And then I told him he drooled in his sleep.

Why didn’t he remember me? I always thought about him. Why couldn’t he remember the time we were at the lake, and he put his arm around me?

Most of the cabins still had their lights on. We were there together. And maybe…I had thought that maybe we… could work. Like, as a pair. I loved him.

And I remember that fight
Two-thirty AM

Nothing had even been permanent. Every time I thought I found a family, it had disappeared- my real family, Thalia Luke and I, just everything. That’s why I wanted to be an architect. Why should he be any different?

Oh, why can’t he remember? Why can’t he remember me? Why can’t my life be like a song? I suppose today it probably did feel like the first time he saw me.
