Leo,now 13, stood on top of the tall, sturdy tree looking for any sign of the kids who kill. Luckily he'd been there for 2 hours and seen or heard nothing and decided to make the swing back to the tree he lived in with Jason and Sarah, he ran down the branch and jumped onto the branch and pushed off from what they call the watch tree.
The swinging was the greatest thing ever in Leos mind, with the trees flying by at unnatural speeds, the insects moving all around your head wondering whats going on and best of all the height your up at, because from this height you see all the predators and the prey, all the small and the big. The animals are what Leo's thinking about, it's obvious it is his favorite thing as for a minute everyday he sits himself down watches the animals moving about the damp, muddy forest floor.
That is until Jason or Sarah comes to get him, that day it was Sarah swing from another branch down to the tree Leo was sitting upon.
As soon as she landed her mouth opened," Leo how many times do we have to tell, never stop and look at the animals. We think they attacked you and are coming for us next, idiot," she said as she slowly made her way down the branch and whacked Leo on the back of the head."Owwwowww there was no need for that Sarah, and besides you would of heard a scream from me anyway," Leo said, rubbing his hand against his head to stop the pain and then continued to say," and its a great day and you know it Sarah the sun is getting everywhere and look I even got a tan while I was watching for the killers." Sarah looked around at the trees basking in the suns glory and then mumbled," okay your right," and returned her gaze to Leo and quickly turned away again. Her beautiful eyes glinting in the sun and then Leo couldn't contain what he'd been holding in for a whole year. Looking into her eyes he smiled and moved closer to her and letting her head rest on his shoulder as she stared at the beauty of the animals. He slowly lifted her head up and moved his head closer to hers and took her into his embrace. She then kissed him before he had the chance to go in, but it didn't last for long because the sound of a knife being pulled from its sheath woke them up from their fantasies.
"run" Leo mouthed and they silently made their way up the tree and started climbing from tree to tree towards Jason and the tree they stayed in.But they stopped dead in their tracks when they hear someone climbing up the tree behind them. That's when their eyes open wide with fear
