Chapter 27
Creepy doesn’t even begin to describe
“The drowning man? Seriously creepy, considering how she died.” Jess said, shivering. “They’ve got to be the number one suspects now.”
“It probably wasn’t all of them, just a few, or maybe even one.” Cadence said. “Think is, Dorothy was loved by everyone, and in that vision everyone wanted to be her favorite, what gives?”
“What?”
“Who would hate her enough to kill her? Let alone drown her, which is a painful way to die, right after they sock her with a bat?”
I nod. “This was meant to be painful, but who? It could’ve been one person, many people, anybody!”
Jess shook her head. “Calm down chica, were just taking guesses and predictions, we can’t be sure sure, just…sure.”
I shake my head. “I just want to know, I don’t want to be sure about it, I want to know. I’m tired of it, it’s like my dad said in the police station. There teasing us, telling and giving us unimportant information, it can help or it can’t, that was her that was him, it was this or it was that. It’s just stressful.”
“For all of us,” Jess said. “It’s not easy for anyone. It’s not that enjoyable, but hey at least we got something. And Meredith can definitely be suspect, we all know Dorothy would never favor anyone before you, you were always her favorite.”
Tears well up in my eyes. “No wonder where the necklace went.”
“Hey,” Cadence came over to me, and rubbed my shoulders. “I’m not telling you it’s going to be okay, because right now it’s not, and we shouldn’t delude ourselves. But what I am telling you is that your not alone, people care about you, and Jess and I, were going to be by your side. No matter what.”
I nod, “has anyone ever heard of the drowning man?”
They both shook their heads, but Jess said something. “But…you heard it, they stick together and all that.”
“So?” Cadence asked, fingering my amulet.
“There obviously still a group, even with their most treasured member. I haven’t spoken to them, Des?”
I shook my head, and Jess grinned. “What if it’s time we start.”
“What?! No! No way! We can’t, it’ll look to suspicious.” I babbled.
Cadence let go of my amulet, and picked up his phone, twirling it. “Not if we call it a police investigation. We call all of Dorothy’s friends and relatives, and we all have a little chat, in the same room, and separately.”
“Sounds like a plan,”
“A plan leading to trouble,” I mumbled.
Jess and Cadence look at me. “Heard that.”

I will not be under your tyranny
Your cruel and oppressive force
Yes, maybe you should be my leader
But that doesn't mean I should follow you all the time
Do you know he's got you bound
Under ropes and chains of cruelty
Well, I don't wanna be a follower
If it means I have to be a killer
No, I'm not exactly kind-hearted
But that doesn't mean I have to kill, kill, kill
I don't wanna be just a senseless follower
I have a heart, I have a soul, so I don't follow you
I don't just wanna be a follower
So I don't give a fuck bout what you do, do, do
But I myself will not give in to the tyranny
So you'll watch me leave
No one's gonna stop me
Look, I'm walking out the doors of tyranny
And I'm not gonna be a senseless follower
Ever again in my life.
