Life is cruel

Life is our precious gift
    But most of us, only drift
    We look once and never think
    Just how much this world will sink
    We hurt each other every day
    I’ve barely heard one person say
    I love you, just three simple words
    Full of power, light, and mighty as swords
    It makes me really sad to know
    Just how much this world hasn’t grown
    Life is about taking risks
    A leap of faith and a courageous kick
    But most of us hide away
    Becoming an ugly dark decay
    We can be so much more
    Together we can all soar
    Above the wicked evil things
    All we have to do is think
    Deeper, hard and long
    We are strong, beautiful human beings
    If only we all could see
    The amazing things we could be
