Chapter 4
Screams were coming from all around me. Foot steps of the humans running. I closed my eyes and covered my ears. How could they do this to those poor humans? I thought. They hunted quick. Which means I had to leave. Leave now.
While they weren't looking I sprinted towards the door. Suprisingly, it wasnt locked. I didnt know my way around the Castle yet so I phased into a white wolf with bright green eyes. Oh great. I thought. This is when I wish I had black fur. But if I ran fast enough maybe they wouldnt see me.
I ran as fast as my legs would could go. I ran into walls often but only because everything was so black. I got to these doors I thought I was alone when I turn around and spot Alec. Right behind me.
So I turn around to look at him. When there this mist coming towards me. I bark at him then claw at the door. Damn my smallness. I thought till I finnally got it I turned it and dashed out the door.
I was still in my wolf form so everyone started screaming. Gianna looked at me wide eyed. She was pressing buttons behind the desk frantically. My conscience was telling me to get the hell out of here. I glanced behind me. Finding Felix and Demetri watching my every move. You gotta be freakin' kidding me. I thought. I knew I couldnt outrun them. So I, without thinking, ran into the crowd of people outside. I needed to get someplace where there were witnesses. I ran into a black alley that was just to my left and phased back. I was somewhat proud of myself but I was exhausted. I looked around. And took out my phone, knowing I only had seconds. "Hello?" A warm voice that I longed for picked up. "Carlisle? I need your help." I said trying to catch my breath. "Whats wrong?" I guessed he looked at the Caller ID and where I was calling from before he asked "Italy? What are you doing there?"
I put the phone on mute and sunk behind the trashcan next to me. Felix had followed my scent.
I moved more into the shadow. But just when I did that something grabbed my hair and pulled me back. I growled and tried to get free from his hold. He growled back and slapped me. "What the hell are you doing?!" He yelled in my face. "Trying to get away from this awful place!" I yelled back. He smashed the left side of my face into the brick wall. I winced, then looked at him. My knee shot out and kicked him in his private area. He fell to the ground, groaning. "Hmph," I said. Caius must have been wearing a cup or something. I shrugged. Run! my conscience yelled at me. I didnt want to though. I wanted to fight. He got up slowly looking at me with confidence in his eyes as I stood there, my body trembling. I swung my arm out to punch him in the gut but he moved to the side making me lose balance. He took advantage of that and pushed me against the wall. And punched me in the face. I know! The face! I stared at him in shock that he would actually hit a girl. I mean it didnt hurt or anything but still! I couldnt help but punch him in the throat. He just looked at me as if I had done nothing. I poked his adam's apple. "?!?!" Was my reaction. I frowned and he laughed at me. So I did what I would have done with anyone and took his head in my hands, and shot my knee up with all the strength I had.
There were crunching sounds. I wasnt sure if that was my knee or his face. I laughed as he dropped to the ground, gasping. But he took my ankle, and pulled on it making me fall down next to him. He wrapped his colder than ice hands around my neck and choked me. I started gasping, kicking, and clawing at his hands trying get him to stop. But nothing worked. Tears spilled out and overflowed my cheeks. His hands loosened some but not enough.The last thing I saw was his horrified face as he stared at something past me.
