Despite being a huge baby when I was a kid, there were few horror games or movies that scared me. I was mostly scared by trivial things, like the boulder in Crash Bandicoot or the PS1 startup screen. I was never really scared of anything horror related… Resident Evil Remake was that one exception.
Being worked from the ground up to reimagine the original game and make it even more stunning, the game follows the S.T.A.R.S. team as they go into the mountains to investigate mysterious murders. There, they find a mansion full of zombies and monsters and now must survive to uncover the truth being all of this. You can play as two major characters of the franchise, Jill Valentine, the master of unlocking, and Chris Redfield, the boulder puncher himself. They both have their own unique traits, like how Jill can carry more items and pick locks while Chris has more health and always has a lighter on hand. Each playthrough is different, and not just from the perspective of the characters. You have different teammates helping you, and scenarios will change depending on who you are. Like the piano, Jill can play it perfectly, but Chris will need Rebecca’s help, because only girls can play piano. Fact. And let’s talk about the atmosphere of this game, just going down a hall waiting for a zombie to pop up is scary as hell. These slow lumbering morons who were just fodder for weapons in Dead Rising are now terrifying as all hell in this game. And when they turn into the dreaded Crimson Head, just fuck it all. It’s the music, the sound effects, the lighting of the room, it all makes your skin crawl and really helps envelop you into that horrifying atmosphere and I just.. I love it so much. You are always worried that you are in danger until either another character comes with you into a room to help solve a puzzle or until you reach the safety of the save room, where you can feel at ease knowing that you are safe, for now. And despite this game being released on the Gamecube, it still looks beautiful even now. Maybe not so much the character models, though they’re okay, but the backgrounds are amazing. They’re pre rendered, so they are just still images with characters walking around them, and I have to say, the detail in these backgrounds are incredibly. Just looking at them is enough to make you feel disturbed at the level of perfection that went into making them. God, I just, I love all the details in this game. It’s so good
Resident Evil Remake is a game I have gushed about time and time again and will continue to gush about time and time again in the future because it is the perfect horror game. Sure, it’s got no creative writing and underlying themes like the Silent Hill games, but I still love this franchise a lot and Remake was the one to bring me into it. And I can appreciate it for that. Please get Remake. It’s like RE4 and is on every console ever made.

Movies have always had a way of moving people emotionally and making them feel things. Fear, sadness, laughter, joy, heartbreak, all sorts of things. And just like movies, video games have done so as well. I don’t want to be that guy that asks, “are video games art” because that’s an argument I refuse to start, but I will say that it can be have great moments in them that affect people emotionally like any movie or song or whatever can. A lot of games have moments like that and I am happy to discuss them with you all today. Now I should point out that this game has a ton of spoilers...

So yes, I have had the name for five years. I have always talked about Wind Waker and it being my favorite game ever. And I have talked about it endlessly and why I loved it so much. And even with all the games I have ever played, with all of the games I have experienced and loved, they still never compare. I am aware that they are all better games, technically. Dark Souls has better combat, Resident Evil 4 has more polish, and Metal Gear Solid 3 has a better story. But Wind Waker is different, cause it was the game that came at the right time.
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker follows Link...

When I was a kid, I never watched a whole lot of Nickelodeon. I was more of a Cartoon Network kid, honestly. But from time to time, I would always switch the channel to watch Spongebob Squarepants, a classic from mine and a lot of kids childhoods (Up until season 4, but we try not to talk about that). The show was popular enough to get a few video games based on it, and I heard they were pretty good. And being the child I was, I was able to get one of these games, and I was told it’s the best one. And it was. Introducing one of the few licensed games on this list is Spongebob Squarepants:...

Let me start this article off by getting something out of the way. I like The Sims. Is it the superior life simulator game, I wouldn’t say so, but it’s a really fun game. There’s just something satisfying about building up your house with all kinds of stuff to create a massive home with the money your Sim earns. That and just finding new ways to kill everyone in the Sims, but satisfaction nonetheless. There were a lot of side Sim games, like a lot of expansion packs for 2 and 3, and whatever the hell EA was doing with 4. One of these more… unique side games was the MySims games. Let’s...

Pardon the sudden absence of Hidden Gems, everyone. When you are searching for games that no one ever talks about, it can be pretty difficult when you are surrounded by popular games, and also college starting up soon is a real pain. But, I am glad to say that I will be continuing my search for obscure and less mentioned games, and what better way to start than one that has been well received by numerous people. Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days was a sequel to the first game, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, a game I never played before. Kane and Lynch 2 did pretty well in the UK, making it the number one...

Okay, everyone stop right where you are. Unless your brave enough, or foolish enough, to hear of the most disgusting memes on the internet, then this is not for you. If you don't like hearing about elderly porn, STDs, or reversed bestiality, then leave right now. Trust me, I will tell you all the worst memes of all time. So... here we go

Lemon Party - Now this is no party that not even Pinkie Pie would like. Trust me, its gross. Now, a Lemon Party is a porn video where three men above the age of 70 have oral sex in a room on camera. Yes, it is old man sex, and this is only the first of the seven...

So horror movies…. I’m seeing a lot of movie, not a lot of horror. It takes a lot for me to be disturbed by a movie nowadays. Books have the ability to let you think about the horror and let you imagine it yourself, and video games let you experience it from a first hand perspective, but movies are not the best with making you feel scared. Even the good horror movies don’t do a good job at being scary. However, there is a subgenre out there that uses low budget and haunting imagery to give it a disturbing feeling. The world of exploitation horror films. So, today, on Hallow’s Eve, I...

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, known in other regions as Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer’s Call, is the “third” game in the SMT franchise. And I say third with quotes because any SMT fans will tell you that’s bullshit. The third in the mainline franchise, yes, but SMT has had several spin offs and franchises all from the Shin Megami Tensei titles alone. Hell, one of them that you may know, and the reason why you are reading this article right now to yell at me over, is the Persona franchise. Persona is part of the same series, but vastly different. Persona is a game that is about the...

Well, looks like it’s time to dust off this corpse of a series that I haven’t touched upon in a long time. Hidden Gems has been on the back burner for quite some time until I could play more underappreciated games. And now that I am back into it, I think now is the time to start talking about it again. And let’s talk about Persona (Wait, that’s not underrated). It’s no surprise that I love Persona. Like, a lot. And when I was told that there were a ton of other games like it in the world of Shin Megami Tensei, well, I just had to get onboard that. I started with the third game, Nocturne,...

So let’s just get this out of the way while there is still time. I love the Persona franchise. I was planning on doing a big project with it, but now isn’t the right time, so… later. But for now, let’s talk about the first of a few Persona games that will be appearing on the list. And what better game to talk about than one that mashes both of my loves into one. Persona and Fighting games. It’s Persona 4 Arena Ultimax baby!
The story is a follow up to Arena, the first one, which I have not played (oops). It involves an event known as the P1 Climax, a fighting tournament that...

Back when I was just a wee lad that had first stepped into the world of fighting games and thought Melee was the greatest fighting game in the world, the word Soul Calibur got thrown around quite a bit. I was told it was something unique to itself, allowing weapons. And then I was reminded of Mortal Kombat: Deception, but Soul Calibur is better known for weapon fighting. So the chance I got to play Soul Calibur V, I hated it. I hated the story, the characters, and the lack of major features, and decided to let this game die. But after some time, and realizing that Soul Calibur III was...

So, Resident Evil VII’s Not a Hero and End of Zoe DLC came out recently. I could be reviewing that… But I also could review a totally different Resident Evil game from over a decade ago… Yeah, let’s do that one instead. So, despite that Resident Evil VII got some new DLC, I want to review another Resident Evil game. One that seems to have a massive divide in the community of the Resident Evil fanbase. Some people like this game while others don’t. And no, it isn’t Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil: Revelations. Instead, it’s the first controversial pick, Resident Evil Zero.

Nik was able to best the Anistar City Gym Leader, Olympia. Though despite her boring Mercury to sleep and her Pokemon being laming-it-out-fucks, Nik was able to defeat her with few problems and claim the Anistar City Badge, giving him seven badges and only one more for him to get.

In the not-so-exciting duel with Olympia, Emeritus II was able to evolve from a nothing Litwick into an on-the-road-to-something Lampent. The Chandelure will be there soon enough.

While trying to defeat Team Flare and their leader in their secret base, Nik ran into the Team Flare scientist, Xerosic. In the constant...
