Ravage Part III 6
Chapter Twenty-One:
Revenge trudged ahead. Despite the pain his spear-wound was causing him, he ignored it. He refused to let anyone look at it.
It was bad enough he was in this hellhole looking for his sister. But on top of that, he'd found Cassie first. And she had found a guy...who she was flirting with.
Flirting wasn't exactly the word Cassie would use. More like...talking and understanding. Liam was very much like her. Youngest of his family, full of enthusiasm, always managed to make mistakes.
He had extraordinary abilities which always seemed to heighten his number of mistakes and their affect. The two exchanged stories and jokes, laughing and nodding along with each other.
The trio came to a pool of lava and Cassie hesitated. There was a small, narrow path around the side. Cassie started to back up but Liam grabbed her hand and she squeezed it, holding it in a death grip as they made their way across.
Revenge rolled his eyes and continued forward.
Artemis's bow and jaw clattered to the ground.
"Then-then that would- then-" she stuttered, Revenge saved her from embarrassing herself anymore.
"Yes." he said, "I'm your big brother, Artemis."
Artemis stood shell-shocked for another moment or two before flinging herself at the black hero and hugging him.
Artemis always looked at this moment as a mistake. Should she have done it? Was it the right move?
Every time, she was answered by Revenge hugging her back.
Then the bullet hit Revenge in the chest. He slipped his mask on and tossed Artemis out of the way as another hit him in the head.
"NO!" Artemis yelled, sitting straight up.
Jain was crouching next to her. "Are you okay?" she asked in her soft accent.
"Yeah," Artemis replied, breathing heavily. "I'm fine."
"Somebody's approaching." Harvey called from out in front of the tent.
Artemis stood up and grabbed her spear, walking outside.
Someone was coming alright. Someone stupid. They were stumbling about in the sand, their red-black outfit and cape waving behind them. Artemis crossed her arms over her chest and scowled.
"Do we take him out now or--""
"Wait Harvey. This kid is incredibly stupid. I doubt he's a threat." Artemis said, not tearing her eyes away from the boy for a second. Something about him was familiar.
"Or he's setting us up for a trap." Harvey responded.
Artemis watched as the kid stumbled closer. He appeared dehydrated and exhausted. He kept stumbling toward them until he reached Artemis.
"So you're the great Artemis, huh? I thought you acted nice to your guests." the boy said after a moment of silence.
Artemis grabbed the kid and tossed him to the ground, pinning him with her foot and her spear. His mask... It was just like Nightwing's... But looks were deceiving. "You've got a sense of humor. That'll do you no good in the colony. My name's Artemis all right. How did you know?"
"Nightwing sent me."
"What makes you think I have anything to do with the Justice League?" Artemis asked.
"You were Green Arrow's Protege for four years, dated Kid Flash for three. Retired six months ago. Worked on--"
"You've said enough." Artemis said. "My turn to ask questions: Who are you?"
"Red Robin." the boy replied, grinning. He leaped up and grabbed Artemis from behind, putting her in a head-lock. "Oh, and if I wanted you dead, it would've happened, clear?"
"Clear," Artemis choked out.
Harvey and Jain raised their eyebrows.
"I've never seen anyone give Artemis her head like that." Harvey said, laughing.
"Shut up! We obviously can't trust him!" Jain replied.
"We can, we can. He's telling the truth. He's Batman's new sidekick."
"Partner." Robin corrected.
"Don't we all say that." Artemis asked.

Revenge started towards the Bat-Wing, but Batman turned and held up a hand.
"Clark, go. I'll be there in a minute." the Dark Knight said. Superman nodded and walked aboard' one hand on Kara's shoulder.
"You can't come." Batman stated plainly.
"Why not?!" Revenge demanded.
"Because you're pushing Clark's temper and Wonder Woman forbade you from ever visiting Themyscira after leading Wondergirl into a trap."
"Clark's temper?" Revenge asked incredulously.
"The girl likes you too much."
"Of course she likes me." Revenge smirked.
"Exactly, and you're having a bad influence on her. Clark wants you to stay here. I personally think she needs someone like you right now, but Clark says no and he is her cousin."
"Alright, I'll stay here with Alfred."
"Don't ask for too many sweets." Batman warned.
"Why would I ever do such a thing?" Revenge asked, mocking shock.
Batman smirked and boarded the Batwing.
"Yo Alfred!" Revenge called. "Cookies!"

“Sorry I’m late!” Flash said, speeding into the room and sitting down at the table.
“As long as you’re here.” Batman said. Everyone in the room was totally surprised.
“Well, we’re all here. What is it?” Superman asked.
“We’re not all here.” Batman said. “Not yet.”
The zeta tubes buzzed to life. “Recognized: Nightwing, B-01.”
Nightwing waked into the room and nodded at the Justice League members seriously.
“Grow up not like Bruce.” Wonder Woman muttered.
Nightwing took one of the empty seats at the table. Batman spoke up.
“There’s a mole on the Team.”
“Again?!” Nightwing exclaimed.
“But this time, I’m confident who it is.”
The Justice League was startled. “Who?”
“Red Revenge.” Batman said, pulling up a holo-computer of the Black Hero.
