I ran as quickly as possible, trying to get my hands on the Joker. When I got there, the Joker was gone; and Kent was bleeding on the ground.
“Crap,” I mumbled under my breath. I teleported over to Kent, he had some internal bleeding and bruises, definitely Joker damage.
“Rene?” he whispered.
“Shh, I’ll take you to the hospital.” I put him in a protective bubble so I wouldn’t hurt him. We teleported to the mountain and I brought him to the infirmary. Maxine and Nightwing came rushing over to me.
“What happened?” Maxine said.
“I don’t know. Kent called me, I got there as fast as I could; but obviously I was too late.” I started to cry, Maxine hugged me.
“Rene, there was nothing you could do. It’s not your fault.” I pushed away from her.
“Yes it is!” I was yelling, “I could of stopped this from happening if I could of just gotten there quicker! It is my fault, and I will never forgive myself for it.” I stormed out of the infirmary and sat on the couch, my face in my hands. Nightwing tried to comfort me, but I pulled away.
“Just leave me alone,” I said as I stormed out the zeta. I went to my apartment in Gotham, to find out about the Joker incident. Kent had fought the Joker single handed without the police helping him. The Joker was winning though, and Kent looked like he was going to die. Kent was laying on the edge of the roof, the Joker kicking the snot out of him. The Joker kicked him so hard that Kent fell off, but quickly grabbed the edge, but the Joker made his fingers let go. He fell down 10 stories onto the hard pavement. I choked back some tears when he crashed on the road. I ran into my room and threw around object in my room. My clothes, weapons, (that was not a good idea) and potions (also a bad idea). The phone rang.
“Hello?” I said, tears about to come out.
“Hey, it’s Rosie.”
“You’re deaf though!”
“I got a chip installed so I can talk now.”
“That’s great.” I said, sniffling.
“What happened?”
“Kent almost died today.”
“Oh my god! How?” she asked.
“Joker, what do you think.”
“I’m so sorry, you OK?”
“Yah, I wish you come back here though. I haven’t seen you since the bonfire in Guatemala we had.”
“Actually, I’m in Gotham right now.”
“Really? Where?” I was ready to scream I was so excited. There was a knock on the door. When I went to open it, Rosie was standing there.
“I’m right in front of you.” She smiled. She wore a red tank top, jean skirt and red heels. Her hair was still bright orange, but she got a red streak in the front.
“AH!!” I hugged her and asked her to come in.
“Thanks, hey, we should go to the mountain. You need to make me invisible though, so they don’t except me.
“Of course,” I said, “lets go!” We walked the streets, and sneakily went into the ally. I turned Rosie invisible and walk through the zeta, looking sad-ish.
“Hey guys, how’s it going?” Rosie walked over behind Nightwing.
“Everything’s fine Rene, you OK?”
“BOO!” Rosie yelled behind him. He quickly turned around, but there was no one there.
“What are you doing Rene?” he said.
“Me? What could I possibly have done?” I smiled.
“Really Nightwing? Don’t you remember me?” Rosie said.
“I don’t know who you are,” he said, facing Rosie right in the face. The potion wore off.
“It’s me, Rosie!” Nightwing fell on the floor, in a shocked expression. Rosie and I were laughing so hard, are sides were splitting.
“Best prank ever!” I said, and we high fived. Nightwing smiled and chuckled a little.
“That was kind of fun you guys. It’s good to see you Rosie. I thought you were deaf?” Rosie smiled.
“I got a chip so I could speak, I thought it might help my in certain cases, such as this.” Maxine walked into the room.
“Hey Rosie, heard you got a chip? To help you talk right?”
“Yeah, it’s good to see you Maxine.”
“OK, we have a lot of things to do,” said Nightwing, “we need to tell Rosie about the mission, and get ready to strike soon.”
“Wait,” I said.
“What?” he said.
“I need a juice box first!” Maxine rolled her eyes. “Plus, I need to check up on Kent. I can’t leave him yet, not until he’s better.”
“Fine, Maxine get Rene a juice box, Rosie, I’ll explain to you the plan.”
“Make sure it’s fruit punch Maxine!” I yelled out to her. I walked into the infirmary and found Kent.
“He’s currently in a coma,” the nurse said. I grabbed a chair and sat next to him. I could have stopped this from happening, I thought. I laid on his chest and cried. It was my entire fault.
“Rene, I have your juice box.” Maxine said.
“Thanks,” I sniffled, “can you come give it to me?” She walked over and set it on the side table. She lifted me up and hugged me.
“Don’t worry Rene, he’ll be OK.” She said.
“I hope so,” I sniffled.

It has been long since,
I have seen.
The outside world,
Is but a dream.
I have once seen,
Where flowers lie,
But now all I see,
Is a starless sky.
I remember,
A shining sun,
Its blinding rays,
Shone on everyone.
There was a boy,
I once met,
He is all I had,
And I will never forget.
I am alone,
In my dark world,
Praying to see as I had,
When I was a little girl.
Verona
Music evades me,
As does your voice,
All I have is before me,
And I have no choice.
Your moving lips,
They captivate,
I mustn't look away,
Before it' too late.
I remember swaying,
To the music in my bones,
But I can barely hear,
That I am all alone.
I miss the magic,
That music used to bring,
I remember when,
I could hear birds sing.
Now everything I have,
Is only everything I see,
And that is not the way,
I want things to be.
(I was bored and wrote these each for the sisters. please dont steal!)
