The boy opened his eyes to white light.
"Whaa?" His speech was slurred, he tried moving his body, but it was stuck to the table.
"Don't move. It's worthless." A figure in the shadows spoke, only showing their white shoes.
"What...?" the boy blinked, trying gain his vision.
"Your paralyzed as of now, but don't worry. When you leave, you'll be able to....walk." The boy studied the burns and bruises on his body.
"What did you do to me?"
"We helped you..what else?" the figure moved and crossed his arms. "I'll be back later. Try not to go anywhere." The figure opened the door and left the room.
Jaime pulled up his shirt and stared at his bare back. He stared at the scars on his back where his wings once stood. Lexi stood next to him, he was only four years older than her, but Lexi came up past his shoulders. Jaime had the build and attitude of her father, but had the face and hair of her mother.
"Jaime..." Lexi touched the scars on his back.
"Of all the family, I'd be the one without wings." He let go of his shirt, covering his back.
"We'll get your wings back!"
"I'm not going back there!" Jaime stepped away from the mirror
"Don't you-"
"Of course I want my wings back! But not if it means going back there." Jaime stepped away from his sister and was slammed into a wall.
"Got you know, brat!" Conway smirked and held a knife to his throat.
"Lexi run!!" Jaime struggled against the massive 6'6 man.
"No!" Lexi lunged for her brother but was held back by two men. "Let me go creeps!"
"No can do, you're coming with us, and so is your brother!" They threw Lexi into the back of the van along with Jaime. Lexi started punching the doors as they shut, leaving her knuckles cracked and bruised.
"Give it up. It's no use." Jaime leaned back against the van wall.
"So you're just going to give up?!?" Lexi stared at him.
"No. I have a plan."
Okay, I swear this is it until tomorrow...maybe.
