Mel walked among the streets. Her swords drawn. The sky was an ugly dust color. Trash flew in the air, and the air she breathed was dirty. Getting supplies was getting harder and harder. An Eraser came out of no where snarling, bloodthirsty. She jumped up, spinning, sending her foot into the beast's snout. She earned a yelp. The Eraser grabbed her leg, but didn't have it for long. She had swung her sword, and the Eraser's head slid off it's neck. She escaped it's deadly grasp, and landed on her feet.

Mel soared through the air, backpack in hand. She constantly scanned the earth below. From what her father told her, it used to look like quilt of greens and sometimes blues. Now it was quilts of trash and dirt. But that's what they were used to. The School had polluted the world, and had taken over. This was a problem.
One that had to be solved.

Mel had been fighting off Erasers for the past hour, which, when you're constantly having Erasers try to kill you, felt like forever. Her limbs were about to give out. It was time to go up and away. I snapped up, panting. Jesus. I rolled out from under the tree, and onto Fang, who had fallen asleep on the floor.
"Mmm?" Fang stirred.

Her hands were placed gently on the sewing machine as she pushed the fabric into the needle. The needle punched the cloth creating a straight and decorative line of thread.
The orange light from the sewing machine was the only brightness in her room and its chugging noise the only sound heard.

You guys have probably heard all of this before, but I'm posting this anyways. This is just a little update/reminder on Bella's past and where she is currently...

Bella Watson was born and raised by a single mother, who died in a plane crash when Bella was three. She was then put into foster care and was adopted by that same family, until they all died during an apartment fire when Bella was nine.

Her eyes closed for a bit, trying to block out the pile of math work that would bring headaches and no sleep that night.
