((Its long I know but please read to the end and thank you Discord for help with the title I just look for a synonym XD))
It was happening again that memory, that horrible memory, haunting him another night. The heavy breathing, the sudden crashes, and the sound of pain pounding into his head.
Then that scream, that woman's scream, the scream of torture and fright, the one that made every hair on his body stood up. Its high pitch and a hellish bang that came after and synced with it, dampening the air with death and fear. It played out as it did eight and a half years ago. The moments that changed and snatshed his childhood and happiness away.
There those eight year old eyes creased through that closet, gazing into the room where he saw his dear father struggle to his feet, as that thick dark red liquid leaked from his side.
Moments later he watches that brutal scene, the scene that tumbled his stomach and made him want throw-up. One kick to his father abdomen, another kick to his mother's head that ceased her cries and her movements. Suddenly in the back of his mind he hears his name call out in a concern tone, (Jaivus!), he ignores and continues to watch.
His breathing quicken as he watch the final part on the memory he knew what was about to happen. The attacker held his sword firm as he aimed the weapon to the man's chest. The shape blade was inches away from his father's chest but then the voice called again, (Jaivus wake up.)
Jaivus shot his eyes open, inhaling a large heap of air. The chill of a cold touch startled and caused him to pull a knife it . There the knife was placed on the throat of a frighted dark blue hair girl with terrified eyes and hands of surrender. The couple spared at each other as a drop of blood crawled to the tip of the blade.
"It's just me Jaivus, It's just me."
"Wadda you doing here?" Jaivus remove the blade.
"Um..I.."
"I thought I asked you to give me a few days to myself?"
"I..know but I heard you talking... thought you were up and thought I should check on you." she gave a small smile as she toyed with her hands uneasily.
"Ash I'm fine just go back to bed." he placed his hands on hers just to ease her discomfort.
"Um....actually I was hoping we could talk."
"We can talk tomor..."
"You said that to me the last time...that was three days ago."
"Please Ashley go back to sleep."
"Can I stay with you?" She asked, Jaivus robbed the back on his neck tilting his head down and soft said,
"No."
The room went silent Jaivus kept his head down but then the weight Ashley had pull on the bed raised. He looked up seeing a glimpse of her dark blue exit the door onto the balcony. He knitted his brows in vexation and came to the entry. There she was her body facing the darks in the opening with her hair gracefully swaying from the gentle wind.
"Ash come on go back to your roo..."
"How long do you intent to avoid me?" Her voice stroke at him like lightning causing him to freeze in the doorway. She looked at him her expression was one he had never seen before. Her eyes brows knitted, her face was red and her eyes narrowed, all yelled an emotion that seemed impossible for a girl like her to express, angry.
He walked up to her, "are you ok?" he asked stretching his hand to touch her shoulder but she slapped it again.
"Answer my question and I might tell you how 'ok' I am." She shot at him folding her arms.
"What is wrong with you?" Jaivus asked, a bit irritated.
"Stop asking questions and answer mine!" She yelled, at that Jaivus grabbed her hands, leading her out from the balcony she pulled away.
He said to her soft, "Ashley I want to get some sleep," but then raised his tone, "But I can't do that if you're going to act like a spoiled brat..." the very utter of 'spoiled brat' he immediately swallows with a sudden slap.
"At least I'm not an uncaring, naive, in denial jerk. You're the one that's shutting out the people that care and wanna help you, you're the one that's making empty promises, what was it that you said, 'Ashley please give me few days to myself so I can sort things out' last I checked a few days ended a week and a half ago," She continued her arguing but Jaivus was boiling on the inside as he listened to the truthful words that escaped her lips.
"I may be a spoil brat but at least i can admit it and want to stop being that way, " She yells but was suddenly silenced.
"Ashley shut up!" he yelled
"Don't tell me shut up.."
"For the love of..would you for once stop pitying me!" He yelled once more grabbing hold of her shoulders shaking her. He then relieved her and walked to the end of the balcony.
"Is that what you think I'm doing? Jaivus you're not eating and when you try to sleep those nightmares you have keeps you up. I'm not pitying you I'm worried about you," She placed herself beside him, " And I get that you don't want to talk about your parents but all I want you know is that I'm here and I want to help you so please don't shut me out."
She lean her head on his arm and to her surprise she was suddenly surrounded by his arms caught in a waistline hug. He placed his chin on her shoulder softly whispering in her ears in a serious but defended tone,
"Ok but don't ever slap me again," and she nodded.
