Name: Reyna (Ray-na) Jackson
Alias: Hyde
Occupation: Translator; vigilante; student
Powers: Siren Song, Levitation, Abnormal strength, Wings, Mermaid
Weaknesses If she expels too much power, she will pass out. She is not invulnerable to weapons. She can only levitate herself for short periods of time.
Skills/talents: She is fluent in sign language, English, and understands animals.
History: Reyna was born the daughter of a human man and a mermaid. Her parents met young and married. As time went on, her father, in his search for scientific recognition, started to go mad. He used his daughter as a test subject for many different projects until her mother found out. In fear, she ran away with their daughter. Knowing he would most likely look to the water, Reyna's mother hid on land. Reyna grew for several years in peace, exhibiting results from her father's tests. Due to an incident that caused their secret to spread, they went on the run for months. Unfortunately, Reyna's father found them. He ended up killing her mother and took her home. There, he preformed tests for Reyna to overcome. He rewarded any good results with food, while caging her in the result of “bad performances”. This continued till Reyna turned seven, where her father died of a tragic chemical spill. Due to her own twisted DNA, Reyna was saved. From there she was sent to live with her aunt, uncle, and cousin. Though she lived a more cheerful life, Reyna was abused and targeted by the kids at school. Her cousin, Sven, was the only one who stuck up for her. But even his popularity couldn't hide her from their cruelty. After a severe attempt to take her life, Reyna was sent to a mental hospital. She lived there for several months before escaping, using her siren song. It was then that Bruce Wayne found the girl and took her in as a protege, convincing her aunt and uncle by saying she would “learn how to best overcome her hardships and continue life”. After he was certain she was no longer in danger of self harm, he offered her a place on the team.
Notes: Because of the teasing and abuse, Reyna is often shy and feels vulnerable. Reyna is 17 but will act older than her age. Reyna refers to herself as Hyde because of the traumatic way she was changed. She is able to defend herself in fights, though she has no knowledge of any fighting techniques. Myers and Sven are the only people Reyna feels completely herself with. Reyna has wings due to her father's experiments, but she is able to shape-shift from her “true” form, to the one she uses around everyone. Only Batman has seen her “true” form and encourages her to wait till she is ready before revealing herself to everyone. Along with this, she can become a mermaid in water due to her mother's DNA.
