I was walking out the door when someone grabbed my shoulder.
“I don’t care what you say, M’gann, I’m not going on a date with Wally” i said, turning around. Then I realized that M’gann wasn’t the one who grabbed my shoulder. It was the Dark Night. My whole face turned red.
“Night. I wish to speak with you” he said in his deep voice.
“Ok” I squeaked. We walked into the lounge and sat at a table.
“I’ve heard that you are an honest, clever, determinded, strong, girl who can stand up for yourself. I’ve seen you fight; You are an amazeing martial artist with great power and grace. I was wondering if you would like to join the team. I am not aware of your full potential yet, but I’m sure you will do fine” he finished
‘Say yes!’ said a voice strangly like M’gann’s.
‘C’mon, say yes! You know you want to’ said a voice like Artemis’s
“Fine!” I said aloud “I will join the team if you will have me”
Before anyone could even come in to congradulate me, I turned invisible and ran off. I hate it when people crowd me. I ran to the beach and just laid down and relaxed. Fwoosh. I turned invisible. They all ran right passed me and into the water. Well, Artemis, Wally, M’gann and Robin did anyway. The other two walked in calmly. I turned visible again. I regreted it. As soon as Wally saw me, he came up to me with a bucket of water.
“If you don’t start having fun, I will dump this on your head” he warned
“If you dump that on my head, I’ll brake your wrist” I retealiated. I stood up a glared at him. I was his height, so I could look him right in the eye. Then I walked away, heading into town.
“Where are you going?” he demanded
“To get a bathing suit” I muttered
“Wait!” he said, running up to me “I’m sure Megan has one you could borrow”
“No thanks. I wont take advantage of your kindness and hospitality like my ex-masters would want me too” I declined
“Oh. Okay” he said
When I got into town, I headed stright for the little shops on the main street. The first one was a resturant, the second was a hair salon, the third was a grocery store. I kept walking until I found a clothing store. I walked in and looked for beach shorts and a tee shirt. I found some brownish beach shorts and a navy blue tee shirt. The total was $20.50. I reached into the back of my belt and brought out a wad of cash. I pulled twenty two dollars from the wad then stuck it back in my belt. I walked up the the cashier.
Right before I put the clothes on the table, I spotted something on the edge of my perifial vision. A navy blue smimsuit with stars and a moon on it. I walked over and looked at the price tag. $5.00. I grabbed it off the rack and put it with the stuff I was buying, then pulled out a five dollar bill from the wad of cash I had.
