“This is Samantha Jones. Her alias name is Regalo. She is scheduled to tour the base and train for the day. Hopefully, she'll join the team. Let's not make this another Zatanna affair, shall we?”
Batman's words were firm and his question was a direct order. Becca raised her hand.
“You're not on the team Shade. You can speak freely.”
“Sweet. But um, what are her powers? Cause Regalo is Italian for present so...”
Batman almost smirked at her knowledge but hid it behind his usual mask.
“Her powers are similar to Zatanna's. But Regalo's are stronger and more exercised.”
“So she has all her spells, incantations, and signs memorized?”
“Correct.”
“And her powers are stronger that Zatanna's?”
“Correct.”
“So she is like a present day Morgan Le Fey?”
“In a sense.”
Becca cocked her head. Batman gave her a pointed look, telling her to speak her mind.
“Regalo. It's just so...I don't know. It doesn't sound to match her powers. Her skills. There has to be more to her than just that.”
“Correct. She is, in fact, a joker. She enjoys tormenting the villains as long as possible before taking care of them.”
“Hmmm...when you say as long as possible, do you mean until she herself gets hurt?”
“Yes.”
“So she has strong powers, a good memory, a very tricky side, and hates it when others hurt her.”
“Correct.”
Becca smiled brightly, clasping her hands together. Wally raised his hand and Batman allowed him to speak. Wally looked over at Becca.
“You got ALL of that from her name?!”
“On the contrary, Shade's mind is like that of a computer. She never stops processing, never stops guessing. She follows commands without question. Give her the wrong one, it's your fault.”
Becca beamed under Batman's praise.
“So is she like a robot or something?”
Artemis slapped Wally on the back of his head. To which he quickly responded.
“Ow! It was a question!”
“We've known Becca for six months! I'm sure we would have known if she was a robot!”
“Maybe she's an alien robot. Sent to spy over the Earth until her mother ship comes.”
Becca looked at Batman. He nodded and Becca looked at Wally, her eyes glowing amber. He was thrown towards the wall, stopping inches before he actually hit it.
“Would a robot be able to do that, Wally?” Becca asked, looking at him.
“No. I guess not. You're human. Please let me down.”
Becca released her hold on him, but not before slamming him into the wall. With a satisfied smirk, Becca walked back to her place beside Robin. Batman interrupted a fight by speaking.
“Regalo will be here shortly. Make her feel welcome. And no more disasters.”
