Chapter 5 – New Goal
That weekend was not any better than going to school. At least at school she could see her friends, but at home she had to deal with her mother who constantly yelled at her. On that weekend, she shouted at her more than usual because of Anastasia’s bad moods. They were supposed to go dress shopping that weekend for Anastasia’s upcoming Sweet Sixteen in the end of March, but her mom cancelled that trip. Her mother even took away her Internet in her room on Sunday, but not because of Anastasia’s bad moods that time, but because Anastasia had decided to complete her homework on that day. Her mother complained that her procrastination had been disrupting the family for months, and now, in order to get her Internet back, she had to earn it. Since her mother’s punishments were pretty serious, Anastasia knew that she would not be getting her Internet back for a long time. Instead, she would have to use her father’s computer in the basement whenever he wasn’t hogging it for himself. The absence of her Internet on her computer was now another thing on her list to be upset about.
On that Monday morning, Anastasia was oddly glad to be back in school. And, something turned out a little different for her on that day as well. For the first time in weeks, Ginny said hi to Daniel as he was walking by. He turned to look at her, and said, “Hey.” It was better than hi, Anastasia noted in her mind, for it was slightly less formal in ways. It was a good sign.
“Hey,” she spoke up too, but by that moment, he was already walking away and didn’t hear her. Probably like how he didn’t hear Ginny as she shouted back in January for him to come to her.
Even though he hadn’t replied, Anastasia felt a little better about herself. She only stuck around for a little while longer, for she wanted to see Cathy again. This time, she wasn’t there to tell her bad news. She told Cathy the little story, and her friend smiled.
“Good job!” Cathy exclaimed. “High five!”
Somehow feeling at least a little happy, Anastasia gave Cathy an overly hard high-five. Cathy complained slightly, but there were no hard feelings.
“Hey,” Anastasia muttered after a minute, “do you think that I should continue to try to meet him?”
“Yes! Keep trying!” Cathy answered.
Anastasia giggled at her enthusiasm. They talked for a little while more until a teacher walked by that area and screamed at all the crowds of students, “THIRTY SECONDS BEFORE THE BELL! GO! GO! GO!”
Anastasia was sure that they had more time than that, but she and Cathy stood up anyway, and the rest of the teenagers in that area ran for their classrooms too.
“Hey,” Anastasia said as they began to scatter, “wouldn’t it be cool if Daniel went to my Sweet Sixteen?”
Cathy’s eyes suddenly lit up as she began hauling her bag in the direction of her classroom. “That’s your goal, now! You have to invite him to your Sweet Sixteen!”
A warm, fuzzy feeling emerged inside of Anastasia at the thought of Daniel coming to her Sweet Sixteen. It would be so utterly amazing if he would accompany her at her party, and her night would be complete. She would have to get to know him just enough in order to invite him, and she would have to do this in a short amount of time. But, she felt up for the challenge. When she was a young child, her Sweet Sixteen was the second-most exciting event in her life that she looked forward to next to her future wedding. If it meant that Daniel would come to one of the best, anticipated nights of her life, all the fear and nervousness that she would experience with trying to become aquatinted with him would be all worth it.
“Okay!” Anastasia agreed with a broad smile upon her face. “I’ll try! I’ll see you later!”
“Bye!” Cathy called back.
Then Anastasia turned around and headed for her first period class, feeling satisfied with her new plan.

SO, this is a poem I wrote in creative writing class a couple months ago. :) I hope you enjoy it!
One Day
One day I hope to find you
Somewhere out there in the wilderness
One day I hope to save you from your pain
And forever we could feel bliss
I know that I have faith in you
But I vow to find you first
Being by your side again would be refreshing
Much similar to the feeling of quenched thirst
I would swim through oceans to meet you
For seeing you is my only desire
I would endure all kinds of agony
Being here without you is like burning in fire
There is no way I can survive without you
So I’m begging on my knees
I know that we are meant to be by fate
And one day we can complete each other’s destinies
One Day
One day I hope to find you
Somewhere out there in the wilderness
One day I hope to save you from your pain
And forever we could feel bliss
I know that I have faith in you
But I vow to find you first
Being by your side again would be refreshing
Much similar to the feeling of quenched thirst
I would swim through oceans to meet you
For seeing you is my only desire
