Alice in Wonderland(2010)
Have you had a chance to see Alice in Wonderland yet? If so, you are probably curious to knowmore about the lead in the movie Mia Wasikowska, who of course plays Alice.

She may not be a household name yet, but Mia Wasikowska is poised to cross over into It Girl territory after her star turn in Alice in Wonderland.

Mia grew up in Australia, but her mother is Polish. That is where she takes her name from. Before she got into acting, she was a ballet dancer.

Mia talked about her experience playing Alice and what a challenge it was.

She said, "One of the things that was scary about taking on that role is the huge fan base; everybody has their own idea of who she is. So [Tim Burton and I] discussed, very early on, just being happy with her being our Alice...making her my own.".

What do you think Wambie girls? Is Mia the next famous face? Will she take the place of Miley or Selena?

In the meantime, here are the origins and meanings of several of the names of caracters in the Alice in Wonderland movie. While some of the names from the move are made-up (Seriously, when was the last time you actually met someone called "Tweedledee" or "Mallymkun?"), plenty of them aren't.

Something to think on: How well do the names and meanings match up to the characters' personalities?

Absolem – Hebrew. A form of Absalom, meaning “Father is peace.”
Alice – A German name meaning “Woman of nobility.”...
