Lucius’ POV
I awoke to a shiver making it’s way down my spine. I looked around the dark bedroom, my wife lying next to me. Thick blankets covered her sleeping form from head to toe but she still shivered slightly.
“Lumos,” I whispered and my wand let out a small bulb of light at its tip.
“Narcissa,” I muttered, slightly nudging my wife.
“Hm?” she muttered back in reply before turning to face me. I could tell she was tired, I felt terrible for waking her. “what is it dear?” she added softly.
“Are you cold?” was all I could say.
“A bit. Yes, it is rather cold isn’t it?”
I nodded my head in agreement before I spoke.
“I’ll go see what the cause of this cold is. Someone probably just left a window open in the house somewhere. I’ll be back.”
She smiled at me. Oh how I loved her smile. “Thank you dear,” she said before kissing me and burying herself under the covers once more.
Throwing my robe over me, I made my way out the bedroom door and down the hallway. Thank God I had my wand lit or I would have walked right into Draco’s bedroom door (which was open)
“How many times have I told him to shut his damn door?” I muttered to myself as I closed it. “I swear, the boy is how old now and still sleeps with his door open?”
I made my way to the staircase that led to the front door and was shocked at what I saw.
“Bellatrix? What are you doing?” I asked upon seeing my sister in law standing over another woman’s figure.
Bellatrix’s POV
Of course, I thought as I heard Lucius’ voice. I turned to see him standing on the top of the staircase pointing his wand at me. I couldn’t help but snicker at his stupid confused look.
“Look, don’t get your big boy boxers in a bunch, love,” I began, “I came out here because I was freezing, and Roddy wouldn’t get off his lazy rear and see what the issue was. I found Ms. Lovett like this. My guess is, she forgot to close the door.”
Lucius nodded, thank God he understood or I’d have to slap him silly. I’m sorry, he’s just got his blonde moments that I can’t tolerate. He lowered his wand as I bent over to examine Lenzetta more closely.
“She’s been crying,” I said upon seeing tear tracks stained on her face. “Oh, poor baby pwobly bwoke a nail.”
Lucius’ POV
I rolled my eyes. I swear, Bella can be a…Never mind, I don’t want to say it. I made my way down the staircase, almost tripping on the bottom step. What? It was dark! I made my way over to the young girl on the floor and noticed Bella was right, she had been crying. Sweat seemed to appear on her face as well.
“She’s burning up too,” I said feeling Lenzetta’s forehead. Bellatrix and I exchanged looks for a moment before she spoke.
“Well?”
“Well what?” I said.
She rolled her eyes.
“Well, are you going to carry her to the guest room or not?”
“Oh, right…”
Bella shook her head as I picked up Lenzetta’s body and carried it through the dark house to the guestroom.
