Okay, so I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea from the title. I’m not trying to boss anyone around. Really. This is more just a few things I sort of noticed about RP’s. Okay, that still sounds wrong. Anyways, feel free to tell me to stick a sock in it. I’ll understand.
So first, I kind of feel like with some RP’s, they don’t really go anywhere
Like, I think I mentioned this in one of my Scenario ideas articles. Like, we have a good premise for an RP, but then, when we start, we don’t really get anywhere, and by the time we really start getting into the scenario, we’re all bored. I think an example of this is the Mudblood Mission RP. I think we spent like 8 pages leaving the Manor. And the Masquerade RP-I guess people got sick of that one before we even got to the actual Masquerade. So I guess one thing I “suggest” or think would improve things on this spot would be if we maybe tried to be better at moving things along?
With me, I’m always nervous about moving on too quickly. Like I’m afraid I’ll move on before people are ready, or that it’ll look like I’m trying to control an RP or something, so I know I’m terrible at making things actually progress.
And also, I don’t think this is an issue for ever Roleplay, just some.
Characters?
Okay, so this first isn’t really a suggestion, but I guess I kind of feel like we need more characters…..maybe one or two original, book DE’s? Don’t get me wrong. I love Roleplaying with all of you, but I feel like we’ve been losing people. I haven’t seen Richard/Brutus in months, and then Leah and Nora briefly joined us, then vanished. But then again, nothing’s really been the same since World War III *shudders and tries not to think about it*. I did have a bunch more RP accounts, but the F4 didn’t like the fact that I had so many accounts, so they deleted most of them. Okay, I don’t even know what my point with that was.
Now, I guess I’m still not 100% sure why you (Harley) decided to get rid of Mena, but I was thinking that maybe, for future, if we’re going to introduce another character (I mean another original character…..not a book DE), then maybe it would be a good idea to try a trial run first? Like say a trial RP where we all RP with the new character, just to see if they’re a good fit? I suggest this because we’ve had some…..issues in the past with this. I know Lexa and Trix might be kind of a sore subject for some of you, but a while back, Trix made this new character, Merribelle…..I’m sure some of you remember her? Well anyways, Merribelle basically acted like a slight saner Bellatrix, and it basically ruined an RP or two, especially since we had a real Bellatrix RPer back then, before all of us admitted that we didn’t like Merribelle, and Trix changed the character. Anyways, sorry, that was kind of long-winded, but I think that maybe possibly if you’re making up an original character, a test run would be nice just so we can make sure the character works, and possible make suggestions to the RPer whose character it is if necessary, just so if a new character doesn’t work, or is really similar to an existing character, it won’t wreck any RP’s, or end up deleted later. Once again, just a suggestion. I totally understand if you think this is a dumb idea.
100% Honesty
I don’t know about you guys, but I personally would like complete honesty regarding my character and RPing. I don’t want to drag down the Roleplay if my character sucks, or isn’t being productive. Or if my RPing just sucks. So I appreciate criticisms and critiques. Like, I personally think Kate kind of had too many meltdowns at bad times. I mean, yeah, she is insane, but I felt like my default setting for her was to go into some insane fit or faint or something, so I’m going to change that with this fresh start thing. I won’t be offended if you hate my character or think she isn’t realistic or anything. I’ll see it as an opportunity to make a new one, . So really, I encourage complete honesty regarding my character. I don’t know if you guys agree with this one, but I don’t want to drag down the RP, especially since you guys just came back and all. And I don't just mean honesty for just me, I mean maybe for everyone? Like don't be afraid to be honest to people? Okay, I think I'm not making sense. And that you might already be. Maybe this is redundant. Okay, moving on...

…does anyone else feel like we abandon some RP’s too soon? Okay, probably just me. I tend to get attached to things. Sorry. I’ll shut up now.
