It was a peaceful October night. The wind blew smoothly as crusted brownish red leaves drifted from the trees to the grass below. The wind seemed to play a sort of music with the trees, an incredibly calming little lullaby. Lenzetta Lovett, a darling young girl was asleep in her bed dreaming while breathing heavily. She dreamt of Hogwarts. The teachers, the students, the lessons, the memories. She smiled in her sleep.

Lenzetta’s family was small but known. They were known not only by wizards, but the Muggles as well. Muggles seemed to be brainwashed by fear when it came to wizards. On this calm October night about a quarter to three, something happened. Something not very nice. You see, the Lovett’s were the only magical family who lived in Brooklyn Lane, the rest being Muggles. When you put about 100 Muggles up against one small magical family of only three people, well you get the idea. So on this night three drunk young teenage boys had a splendid idea. A splendid, awful idea. They decided to harm Lenzetta’s family, possibly in the worst way you could harm a person. One of the boys had a lighter, for he smoked. The other two had alcohol. Not a good mix. Anyway, the boys got rather close to the house. With the whole family sleeping their plans would not be soiled. They broke open a downstairs window, which was in their reach and poured the alcohol onto the floor. The boy with the lighter then lit it and threw the lighter into the puddle of alcohol. Yes, it caused a fire. The boys slipped away into the night, supposedly never heard from again.

The fire started out in a small quantity, but began to get larger and larger. Lenzetta, who was still sound asleep in her room had a bad feeling that something was happening. A noise in her head told her to wake up. At first it didn’t work, she remained asleep. The fire spread, now allowing the foul order of smoke pervade through the house. It was not until she smelled the smoke that she finally woke. She jumped up in her bed and ran to her bedroom door.
“MUM! DAD!” she screamed, tears rolling down her eyes.
The fire roared to the upstairs. Lenzetta still had room to move around the blaze.
“ No!” she screamed as she ran upstairs. She turned the corner and ran down the hall to her parents bedroom. As quickly as she could she reached for the doorknob. It wouldn’t budge.
“MUM! FATHER!” she had screamed louder than she ever had before now sobbing so hard she couldn’t breathe. She heard screaming from her parents room.
“The door is blocked Zetta! You must go now!!!”
“NO I WONT LET YOU DIE! I WONT LET YOU LEAVE ME!” she tried as hard as she could to open the door, but she couldn’t.
“ZETTA GO NOW!!!!” she could hear her father scream as he choked from the smoke fumes. With a heavy heart, Lenzetta turned quickly down the hall running as fast as her legs could possibly carry her. The whole house was now up in flames, with pillars and boarding collapsing to the ground. Her eyes were filled with tears as she leaped out the front door and onto the cold ground. She could have swore she heard her mother scream her name one last time and that was it. Lenzetta’s family was gone. All of her greatest childhood memories, dead. All of it ruined. Her hands bled from touching the stifling hot doorknob. She reached into her nightgown pocket realizing she had one more friend left in this entire world. “…hello friend” she whimpered as she looked at her wand. Her eyes weld up with tears again as her body fell limp to the ground, shaking as her tears flew out of her like a forest river….

She cried herself to sleep that night, thinking of the life she had lost forever. Hours went by until someone discovered her body in front of the huge pile of ash that was once her home. It was a pleasant man, older, had to be middle aged. He was indeed a Muggle but wasn’t afraid of this family for he always found magic fascinating. He picked her up and took her to the only place he could think of for her which was right outside Brooklyn Lane, Arkim Orphanage. Yes he took her there. He felt that it was the only choice. He couldn’t just take her home with him. His wife and mother lived in his house, his mother being very old and deathly ill. He carried her the whole way talking to her. Of course he knew she wouldn’t respond for she was asleep, but thought it might comfort her the slightest bit.
“Your parents were wonderful people,” he would say. “Whoever did that to them should be punished, they didn’t deserve that fate.”
When he arrived at the orphanage with Lenzetta in his arms the nurses at the front door panicked. Her body was covered in soot and dirt, her face had tear tracks down the cheeks. Her hair was singed and her hands and knees bleeding.
“What happened to this child?!” One of the nurses asked.
“I found her lying on the ground in front of her house,” the older man said to them. “Her house burnt down, her parents dead.”
The nurses quickly took Lenzetta inside to clean her up and find her a room. Lenzetta finally woke and the next thing she knew she was being rolled down a hallway in a wheelchair.
“Hey,” she whispered still exhausted, “wher-…where am I?” The doctor rolling her down the hall did not answer her question. “WHERE AM I?!” she screamed again now struggling to get out of the wheelchair.
“Ms. Lovett, you must calm down!” the doctor said holding her back.
“Where are they?” Lenzetta shrieked. “Where are my parents?!”
The doctor froze. Stopping the wheelchair from rolling down the hall. Patients in other rooms looked out to the hallway from their opened doors to see the girl yell.
“Well! Are you going to answer me or not?! Where are they?! I want to see them!” Lenzetta yelled clearly thinking the terrible accident was some sort of nightmare. The doctor walked in front of the wheelchair to face Lenzetta. He shook his head in grief. Lenzetta realized what this gesture meant began to yell franticly with tears yet again welling up inside her.
“Nooo! They can’t be! You’re lying!” she screamed now kicking trying to break free. The doctor quickly strode her down the hall to her room and locked the door. He stood outside the door for a minute or two and all he could hear was crying and banging on the door.
