I was toppled over by scrapbooks, ribbons, medals and a big canvas bag when I opened the closet door. What really caught my eye was the huge canvas sack that almost pulverized my leg. I wrenched myself out and pulled the bag over to my bed. I dug out my little sister's, Cookie's (her real name is Charlise), little plastic "Sheriff" badge and giggled. I placed it down and pulled out an unopened letter that I never have seen before. I opened and read it:

Dear Miss Courtney Langerak,

Thank you for help saving our ranch from MorcuCorp! We really appreciate your concern for all of the horses and the ranch. You are welcome to come here anytime!

"Oh. thank you!" Courtney told her little friends.

She put on the gown and hurried downstairs.
"Isn't my dress lovely? May i go to the ball?" Courtney asked.
Anastasia and Drizella gasped.
"Mother, she can't!"

"Well, we did have a deal" began the stepmother.
At that moment, the sisters recognized the things they'd thrown away.
"My sash!" Anastasia wailed.
"My beads!" Drizella shrieked.
The sisters tore at Courtney's gown. They took back the sash and the beads. Courtney was left in rags.
Then Drizella and Anastasia went to the ball with their mother.
