   ~ 10am: penguin HQ~

Skipper set down his mug of fish coffee on the concrete table and smoothed down his feathers. He turned to Kowalski and sighed happily. "Ahhhhh... Friday morning. Zoo's closed for three days and we can finally just RELAX for once!" he said as he sat down, leaning against the wall with his flippers behind his head.
   Skipper had just closed his eyes when Marlene, Maurice, and Mort all burst into the HQ yelling about who knows what. Skipper immediately jumped to his feet and tried to calm everyone down.
  "Woah, Woah. Slow down. One at a time. Marlene?" he said in a firm yet soothing voice.
   "Lexii's gone!!" she yelled franticly.   Skipper looked surprised. "King Julien's gone too!!!" Maurice yelled.
   "What do you mean 'gone'?" Skipper said, motioning for his team to come closer.
   "I woke up this morning and Lexii was gone! I waited for an hour then went looking for her, but I didn't find anything!" Marlene yelled.
  "The same thing happened at our habitat!" Maurice said as he pulled out a leaf from Julien's crown. "I found this on the bouncy when I woke up."
  Skipper took the leaf in his flippers. "Men, I suspect foul play." he said slowly, exaggerating each word. Private and Rico gasped but Kowalski just sighed. "Sir, you always suspect that.". Skipper glared at him and Kowalski looked away quickly.


   ~at the freezer~

   "Hey! There is a leaf missing from my crown!" King Julien yelled angrily.
  "Is that REALLY what you're worried about?!?!?" Lexii yelled back as she searched around for some way of escape. They had been in the freezer for a few hours and it was starting to get really cold, especially after eating the boatload of ice-cream. Shivering, Lexii sat next to Julien, who was still glaring at his crown.
  "Well, we're stuck in here..." she said leaning her head back and hitting it against the wall once. King Julien frowned at her and put his crown back on.
   "So how are we ever going to get out of here?" he asked solemnly as he gazed at Lexii.
  "Well, we pray someone finds us..." she looked down and shivered again.
  Julien cocked his head slightly. "You cold?" he asked as Lexii shook her head.
  "No, I'm fine." her body shook again and she clenched her eyes tight, trying to stop it. Julien gave her a look and she glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. She put her head down and in a quiet voice said, "Ok, maybe a little..."
  Julien gave her a crooked smile. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. "Better?" he asked sweetly. Lexii blushed and nodded. She felt a pang of something in the pit of her stomach. It didn't feel bad. It was a warm tingling sensation that made her heart flutter. She felt Julien's warm fur under her cheek and it all just felt... right.

   Julien held Lexii as he watched her body slowly stop shivering. Her shallow breaths became longer and deeper which meant she had fallen asleep. Her foot twitched and she smiled slightly. Julien sighed and pulled her closer. He closed his own eyes. It all just felt... right.

CuteCuddly That's sweet, but I do hope they get out soon. I feel cold just reading it, and the fact that it's now winter doesn't help.

It was about midnight. Amber was texting away on a phone. Every now and then she would cough or sneeze or something.
I doubt she's sick, but I winced every time it happened.
Kowalski was in the lab with private, and Rico was in there.
Suddenly there was a large crash.
Only when I jumped did I notice I had spent the past half hour staring at amber. I creeped myself out.
Rico came burying through the door. He piled amber, by the arm, off her bunk, and dragged her into the lab. I followed.
In the lab, I saw private, so sick he was almost dead, but on the floor in front, kowalski had passed out....
