Getting Ever After
“Is this a habit of yours? Falling off of stuff?”
“Only when you’re around to catch me…”
Robert and Giselle then leaned forward and shared several kisses despite the fact that it was raining. When they finally broke apart Robert thought of something. “Uh- how do we get down?”
Giselle smiled. “The same way I got up I suppose.”
About five minutes later both Robert and Giselle were safely on the balcony just in time to see Edward slip one of Giselle’s slippers onto Nacy’s feet. “What the-” asked Robert as Edward took Nancy’s hand and led her out of the ballroom.
“They’ve found true love-” Giselle answered simply as she held Robert’s hand. “Like us…”
Robert smiled. “Yeah, like us.”
---
It was well after two o’clock when Giselle and Robert made their way back home and while Giselle wanted to let Morgan sleep, Robert had other ideas.
“She needs her rest,” Giselle stated. “She’s a growing girl-”
“Yeah but you’re staying,” Robert whispered as he opened the door to his daughter’s room. “And she would want to know right away.”
“If you think that’s best…”
“Morgan sweetie,” Robert began as he gently shook his daughter’s shoulders. “You need to wake up sweetie.”
“Mmm….” Morgan murmured. “What time is it?”
“Time for you to wake up,” stated Giselle as she sat on the other side of the bed.
The sound of Giselle’s voice had Morgan up in a heart beat. “Giselle!” she exclaimed her eyes wide. “You’re here!”
“Yes,” Giselle said with a smile. “I am.”
“Are you going to stay?” Morgan asked. “Daddy is she going to stay?”
Robert just smiled and looked at Giselle who was blushing. “Yes darling,” he stated as he patted his daughter’s head. “She’s going to stay….”
“This is great!” Morgan exclaimed. “We can be a family now!”
Giselle giggled. “Yes Morgan,” she assured as she looked at Robert how was grinning like a fool. “We can be a family now…”
---
The next few months were a tizzy of activity. Robert helped to install Giselle at Nancy’s old fashion studio and rename it Andalasia fashions and four months after the ball that was the talk of New York, Giselle and Robert finally tied the knot in central park. Each of them had found their true love and they had their entire lives ahead of them….
….and as all fairytales say, they lived happily ever after.
