Lavender Brown?

So it's been awhile since I read the book in which JK describes Lavender Brown (the first, I think). I believe I read somewhere that she is African American, I'm just wondering because she is Caucasian in the Half Blood Prince.

I just re-read the first book, and they didn't describe Lavender at all (some of the characters weren't) so I looked around on-line. Neither Harry Potter Wiki or Wikipedia have physical descriptions for her. I think you got her confused with Angelina Johnson, Dean Thomas of Blaise Zabini. All three were African and Dean and Blaise were sorted the same time as Lavender.

Maybe? I don't know why they wouldn't have it on HPW or Wiki, though.
