Torres’s troubled half-sister, AVA, a resident at a juvenile detention facility, refuses to break the trust of a fellow inmate who was recently found murdered, but her refusal to divulge her dead friend’s secret just may get her killed as well…

Raised by the same abusive alcoholic father as Torres, Ava has had a troubled adolescence and is currently a resident in a juvenile detention facility. Fiery, impulsive and rebellious, Ava nonetheless has a fiercely honest streak, and the fact that Torres disbelieves everything she says is a source of constant friction between the two siblings.
