Season 2, Episode 2
"Xin Xin and Tain Tain's Bogus Journey"

[The episode begins moments after the aftermath of the last episode. Kai-Lan and her friends are in the royal playroom, drawing pictures.]

Kai-Lan: Boy, I hope we don't end up in a situation like that anymore.
Rintoo: [laughs] You said it. I couldn't think of anything we could do if we did get kicked out the palace.
Kai-Lan: Enough of that. Check out what I just drew.
Rintoo: What is it supposed to be?
Tolee: I think it's supposed to be some sort of truck.
Kai-Lan: You're right, Tolee. It is a truck, but it has a very special work of art to it.
Rintoo: Oh, I knew that. Sort of. [laughs]
Hoho: I thought of the same idea.
Kai-Lan: Doesn't it look super enough to ride on one day?
Tolee: It sure does.
Hoho: Hey, I wonder what this is.
Rintoo: This looks like some sort of map to a secret passage. See this, it looks like that the fron entrance. Maybe it's somewhere inside the palace.
Kai-Lan: I don't think I've seen this around here before. Are you sure we haven't missed any rooms since we've lived here, Rintoo?
Rintoo: Umm, maybe. But I wasn't sure if all the rooms were going to pass my inspection, so I decided not to go in them. Besides, there are only seven rooms in this palace.
Kai-Lan: And in those seven rooms, there are reasons to go in all oof them. Hey, I think we should get Xin Xin and Tain Tain look at those rooms. You know, since we just made Xin Xin a prince not too long ago.
Rintoo: That is true. I'll go call hiim.

[Within a few moments, Xin Xin and Tain Tain show up at the palace.]

Xin Xin and Tain Tain: Ni hao, Rintoo.
Rintoo: Ni men hao. I'm so glad you guys showed up. We've got something very special to show you. Trust me, you guys will be interested in what I have in store. Come on, it's in the playroom.

[The scene cuts to the royal playroom.]

Rintoo: Okay, we found this map, but we can't figure out what it goes to. Do you two think you can figure this?
Xin Xin: Hmm, it looks like...some sort of treasure map.
All: A treausre map?
Xin Xin: Yeah, and it looks like this might lead to one of the palace's treausre caverns. If we try to follow the steps, we might be able to find whatever is on this map.
Rintoo: That...is...awesome! I can't believe that we have a real life trausre chest in the palace. Do you think it will have a lot of gold in there. That would be even awesomer.
Kai-Lan: [laughs] I don't know, but we have to find it to find out.

[The gang proceeds to look for the abandoned treasure that has been in the palace for so many years. Rintoo discovers something else that could lead them to the treasure.]

Rintoo: Hey guys, look at this. I found another piece of the treasure.
Hoho: What is it?
Rintoo: It's a bottle.
Tain Tain: What would a bottle have to do with the hunt?
Rintoo: According to the map, this bottle was part of a very special voyage that was brought upon to the creation of the palace. And it can lead to another clue.
Xin Xin: What kind of voyage was it, Rintoo?
Rintoo: It was a voyage to see which side was the more superior type. This, of course, was between the foxes and the bears. Kind of like when we went to fix that feud between the foxes and bears that one time.
Kai-Lan: Oh yeah, I remember that journey. It was one I will never forget.
Tain Tain: So you're saying that the voyage was what brought that feud between our species?
Rintoo: I'm not sure, but that time it was becuase the bears danced too loud. That doesn't have anything to do with the first feud.
Xin Xin: Then what is?
Tolee: It looks like it's in the contents of this bottle. Let's see what's in here.

[Tolee opens the bottle to see what's in it.]

Tolee: Hmm. It looks like a note, and it's says, "To those who receive this message, let me warn you that you might be in for a big surprise. In this message, you will find out the main reason why this feud started. But my most well concerned subject to this message is that my future children should be able to know of this great battle between their ancestors. Let this note be passsed on for generations on end." You guys know what this means?
All: What?
Tolee: It means that Xin Xin and Tain Tain are distant relatives with the person who wrote this note.
Xin Xin: You mean...?
Tolee: That's right. Our new prince and his best friend are distant cousins.
Xin Xin and Tain Tain: What?
Tain Tain: All this time we been hannging around each other, and we never noticed that we were both in the same family?
Rintoo: Kinda looks like it.
Tain Tain: This is the most awesome thing we have ever heard! How come we never knew this?
Xin Xin: I have no idea.
Tain Tain: Well, however this came out, I'm pretty glad of it. It'll be a new era for a new beginning. It's gonna be a whole lot more than just some sort of treasure hunt.
Rintoo: Hold up. If you're so sure you guys are going to find tis treasure, don't you think you need to check what it is before you start your journey?
Xin Xin: If for some reason we do find this treasure, I'm going to make sure that everyone gets a share of it.
Tain Tain: Don't worry about us, guys. I know me and Xin Xin can find this treasure and we can tell everybody about it. And if something does go wrong, then I don't know what we'll do.
Rintoo: Alrighty then. See you guys later.

[The rest of the gang walks away. The scene then proceeds to Xin Xin and Tain Tain's quest for the biggest treasure they will ever find in their lives.]

Xin Xin: Okay. What should we do first?
Tain Tain: I think we should find this weird statue. It looks like a fox and a bear standing together.
Xin Xin: Whatever it is, it could be another type of clue. Tain Tain, do you know what this means?
Tain Tain: What?
Xin Xin: It means that whatever the treasure is, it could be another stand-in for some sort of illusion.
Tain Tain: You think so?
Xin Xin: I know so. I mean, what if this was some sort of trick and we somehow didn't get the treasure. What do you suppose we do if that happened?
Tain Tain: It would lead to a lot of disappointment.
Xin Xin: I guess that would happen. But I'm sure we'll find it. Trust me, we will find that treasure no matter what happens to us.

[Xin Xin and Tain Tain then storm off, making the scene change to their next stop.]

Xin Xin: Hey look, Tain Tain. That's one of the clues we're looking for.
Tain Tain: This? It's just a little note.
Xin Xin: Yeah, but it's the note that's supposed to have a very special message that we need to read.
Tain Tain: Well what does it say?
Xin Xin: It says that we're gonna need to take the path with the longest snake tail. I wonder where it could be at.
Tain Tain: Um, could that be it?

[Xin Xin turns around and sees the long tail.]

Xin Xin: I did not even notice that. Well alrighty then, let's keep going.

[The two then continue on their journey.]

Xin Xin: Hey Tain Tain, do you think this journey is somehow being watched over or something?
Tain Tain: What makes you think of that?
Xin Xin: Well, for starters, there are some guys looking at us strangely.
Tain Tain: You don't say?

[Xin Xin and Tain Tain look over their shouders to see several shadows in their mist.]

Tain Tain: That was unexpected.
Xin Xin: You're telling me. I don't even know where those guys came from. And I don't wanna know. Let's go before they end up stopping us.

[Xin Xin and Tain Tain continue their journey to get away from the creepy men.]

Xin Xin: I hope we are able to get that treasure before we get ourselves into a whole lot of nonsense.
Tain Tain: I hope so too.

[Just as they are about to continue their journey, one of the men stop them and asks them a question.]

Man: Excuse me. Are you guys looking for the long lost treasure of the foxes and bears?
Xin Xin: We sure are.
Tain Tain: Why do you ask?
Man: Well, I heard that when you look for that treasure, there is a very special surprise awaiting for the lucky people who get close to it. It's very, very special.
Xin Xin: Yeah, we noticed that. What do you think it is?
Man: I don't know, but whatever it is, you'll just have to find it to find out.
Xin Xin: That's exactly what we're doing right now. Do you wanna join us?
Man: Gosh, I don't know.
Tain Tain: Are you sure, Xin Xin? He looks a little...suspicious.
Xin Xin: Of course. I mean, he can't be that suspicious. Matter of fact, he looks more anxious than I am.
Tain Tain: I don't know.
Xin Xin: Come on. Please?
Tain Tain: [sighs] Fine. How bad can he get?
Xin Xin: What do you say?
Man: I say...YES!! I don't know what to say, except...LET'S GET THAT TREASURE!!
[The three then storm off to find the treasure of the bears and foxes. Just as they are about to continue walking, Xin Xin finds something that is sure to help them on their journey.]

Xin Xin: Hey, look at this.
Man: What is it?
Xin Xin: It looks like another clue to the treasure. But I can't tell what this says.
Tain Tain: Here let me see that. Hey, check this out. It's a shell, that's that's drawn on the outside.
Man: You're right. Look it tells us which path we need to take to get to the next path.
Xin Xin: What does it say?
Tain Tain: It says that we have to take the path that has a pink line on the ground. I wonder where it could be.
[Not knowing that the line that leads them to the treasure, Tain Tain looks down and sees it under her feet.]
Tain Tain: Oh, there it is. Look at me, I'm standing on the line and I'm not seeing it. Silly me. [giggles]
Man: Hey, check this out.
Xin Xin: What is that?
Man: I don't know, but it might be another clue for us.
Xin Xin: Well, if it is, it would say it on this scroll. Now, there should be one right around here.

[At the moment when Xin Xin is finnding the scroll, the man, who's badge says his name is Joe, picks up his phones to phone his entourage.]

Joe: Hey, guess what? I managed to get those two kids to let me follow them on their treausre hunt. And, more news, I'm close to it.
Man #2: That's good, then. If you can just lure them to the trap we set up, then our plot is done.
Joe: I won't let you fail.
Man #2: I know you won't.

[Joe hangs up the phone, at the moment when Xin Xin finds a scroll with the next clue.]

Xin Xin: Hey, I found the scroll.
Tain Tain: Great. What does it say?
Xin Xin: It says that we need to take a path that will finally lead us to the treasure.
Tain Tain: Oh Xin Xin, can you believe that we're almost to the treasure?
Xin Xin: I know. It's almost as if we made it this far this fast. I'm not surprised.
Tain Tain: Yeah, me too.
Xin Xin: Hey mister, I don't think we got your name when we meet. What is your name, anyway?
Joe: I'll tell you what it is. My name is...COME HERE!
Xin Xin and Tain Tain: Huh?
Joe: You heard me. Come over here. Also, it's Joe.
Xin Xin: Why didn't you say so the first time?
Joe: I did. And now I have to do this.

[Joe reluctantly ties up Xin Xin and Tain Tain, and takes them to the next location of the hunt.]

Tain Tain: Why are you doing this to us?
Joe: What. You thought that this was real? Huh? You thought that I was going with you and share this treasure with you guys?
Xin Xin: That's kinda what we thought.
Joe: Wrong! I just tricked you guys into thinking that I would be interested in sharing the treasure so that I would loot this whole chest to myself. It was all according to plan.
Tain Tain: [to Xin Xin] I told you bringing him around was a bad idea.
Xin Xin: Hey, I didn't know he would capture us.
Joe: And now, I could do this. [picks up his phone and calls his boss] Hey boss, I got them and the treasure. You can come down here and pick it up.
Xin Xin: Joe, this is ridiculous. I mean, I thought we were all gonna share the treasure together.
Joe: Oh, that was a first. Well, guess what? That's a lie! And here's another thing: You guys are going to be in a lot of trouble once the other guys find out about the treasure and try to take it all for themselves.
Tain Tain: There's no way we're giving you the treasure.
Joe: Yes there is. I'm gonna have some top flight security up in here to make sure that you two poor saps don't get free.
Xin Xin: I never expected that!
Joe: Ah, here they are. Guys, say hello to the International Treasure Commitee, or ITC for short.
Xin Xin: Wow, who came up with that name?
Boss: I did. I'm the head manager, Robert. This is my main men, Leonard and Harold. They help me with the main operations for looting treasure. They are here to make sure that you two don't escape and get the treasure.
Harold: And we are top flight!
Tain Tain: Why are you guys doing this? Why do you want the treasure?
Robert: Because we got tired of not getting anything for ourselves. Everyone we knew was getting something valuable, and what do we get? Nothing, nada, siltch. All that bragging and gloating about who got what. We got sick and tired of it. So I decided to set this operation up, and asked these three guys and some more people to join, so that I could be able to sneeak some loot for myself. And of course, spilt some of it with my top flight men.
Joe: And today was one of those days that there would be some treasure in the talks, and we thought it would be the perfect day to get it. And I convinced you guys to fall in my trap.
Robert: You see, Robert is one of my most favorite con-man. He has the skills and the talents. Alright guys, dig up that treasure.
Tain Tain: We won't let you guys take the treasure, and we won't let you get away with this.
Robert: Oh really, and who's gonna stop us?
Rintoo: [from background] We will.

[Within seconds, Rintoo and the gang show up to help Xin Xin and Tain Tain.]

Leonard: Hey, it's the king and queen, along with the emperor and empress of China.
Robert: Shut up, Leonard.
Leonard: Noted.
Tolee: We heard that you guys were trapped trying to get the treasure, and we've come to help you.
Robert: Let me get this straight: If you guys are willing to help your friends, and if all of you are related to royalty, then prove it.
Kai-Lan: Alright. Guards. [the guards show up] Take these guys away.

[The guards cuff the four guys and take them back to the palace.]

Robert: Wow, Leonard was right about them.
Leonard: I told you.
Royal Guard: These guys won't bother you again.
Kai-Lan: Xie xie.
Hoho: Hey, Xin Xin, how did you and Tain Tain manage that man to join the hunt?
Tain Tain: He said he was going for it, but we didn't know that he was actually part of a cult.
Xin Xin: But we figured that out by the time he captured us.
Hoho: Oh, that's a relief. Well, let's see what this treasure is.

[The gang attempts to dig the treasure. They find the chest lodged up in the dirt, but Rintoo and Tolee manage to get it out.]

Kai-Lan: Whoa, look how big that thing is. Hope you guys can get it all the way to the top.
Rintoo: Don't worry, we can handle it. Push, Tolee.
Tolee: I'm pushing.

[With the effort, the boys manage to get the chest from the hole.]

Rintoo: What I tell you? Let's see what's inside. Xin Xin, Tain Tain, since you guys wanted to find the treausre, why don't you two do the honors.
Xin Xin: With pleasure. Come on, Tain Tain.

[Xin Xin and Tain Tain walk over to the tresure chest and pick the lock. Inside the chest are a bunch of old photos and letters, which date back to the 20th century.]

Xin Xin: That's it? We come all the way over here to find a photo album and some letters?
Tain Tain: That's not all. Look.

[Dug over all those photos is a old whistle that was used by the foxes.]

Xin Xin: Whoa. This is a cool whistle.
Rintoo: And it looks like it was used by the foxes. Xin Xin, I bet everyone you know will be excited to hear that you found an antique whistle.
Xin Xin: I hope they will.
Kai-Lan: Hey, listen to this. In response to the bears, the foxes hereby bury some of the most sacred belonging that our culture has been praising for the last several decades. This whistle, which has been part of the foxes for many years, has given us the ability to get in touch with the bears, and since we hold such a true friendship, we hope that whoever finds this treasure in the future will learn about the true meaning of fox to bear relationship.
Xin Xin: Wow, I never realized that. It was because of the foxes that we and the bears are good friends.
Tain Tain: I guess you're right, Xin Xin. And since the Kingdom of Foxes and Bears are most likely to show that, we now have something to show of it.
Xin Xin: Tain Tain, I'm glad that I got the chance to go on this treasure hunt with you.
Tain Tain: Me too, Xin Xin.

[The two start to hug each other.]

Kai-Lan: Oh, how I love a happy ending.

[The camera zooms out from the cavern.]
