As Mrs. Stratton, Una, and Everett sipped their tea, they talked quite a bit. Mrs. Stratton asked Everett about his chosen career path. He told her about his passion for film editing. She listened intently. She began to rethink Una's passion for acting. Mrs. Stratton then asked Una, "Is acting what you really want?" Una said, "Yes, Mother, it's all I've ever wanted to do." Mrs. Stratton said, "If this is what you really want, I promise not to stand in the way of your dreams." Una said, "Well, one of my dreams is to keep seeing Everett." Everett blushed. Mrs. Stratton said, "I think that's wonderful. He's such a nice, young man, sensible too." He said, "Thank you, Mrs. Stratton." A few hours later, Mrs. Stratton said, "Una, you look tired. Why don't you get ready for bed?" Una said, "Okay, Mother." A few minutes later, Mrs. Stratton went to check on her daughter. Una was sound asleep in her bed. Mrs. Stratton whispered to Everett, "She's had a long day. I've never seen her sleep this soundly." Everett nodded. They quietly slipped out of Una's bedroom. Everett then said, "Well, I better go." Mrs. Stratton asked, "Are you really going to drive at this hour?" He said, "I've done it before." She said, "I won't hear of it. You are too tired to be driving." He said, "I'll be all right, Mrs. Stratton." She said, "Everett, you need your rest. We have a guest room. You're welcome to sleep there." He said, "I don't want to impose." She said, "Don't be silly. You helped Una, and you helped me. This is the least I can do." Everett said, "Thank you. That's very kind of you." He then settled into the bed in the guest room. The next morning, Mrs. Stratton fixed a big breakfast. After breakfast, Everett thanked Mrs. Stratton for letting him stay. Una then said, "I'll see you around, Everett." He said, "I'd like that, Una." She then watched as Everett drove away.
