I stared at the night sky. It was all black there were no stars out. I had runaway a 5 years ago, my mom thought it was because I wasn’t happy. It wasn’t that I was miserable it was the problems the monsters, the pain. Ten years ago my mom had a baby tiffany. I was only two but I still remember the neglect the rejection. My mom and step dad favored tiffany over me all the time. Tiffany had blue eyes and hair like corn silk. She looked down at my brown hair and sea green eyes. Like I wasn’t welcome. They all looked at me like that. When my twelfth birthday came my parents forgot. FORGOT! I finally said enough packed my stuff and left. It was Seventeenth birthday as of today and all the memories came back to haunt me. I got up and dusted myself off. I walked up and down the streets hoping that help would come that something would answer my prayers. Even though I knew hope was lost. Then out of the corner of my eye the shadows lurched as if someone was moving threw them. Then he stepped out of the shadows. My heart did a summersault. His shaggy black hair fell in his face and he had eyes like the night sky but he was drop dead amazing looking. He smirked and started circling me like he was a vulture and I was pray. I looked down at the ground hoping he was just my imagination but when I looked up he had stopped circling me and was staring at me like I was worth something.
“Get it over with I have nothing left”. I said with pain in my words. He looked me in the eye and there was no evil there only understanding and grief.
“I’m not going to hurt you”. He retorted as if the mere thought of it was disgusting. I scoffed and turned away.
“What’s your name”. His voice was scared and full of adrenaline as if the fate of the world depended on my answer.
“ Alena, who are you and what’s going to happen to me”? He smiled like he had won the lottery.
“I’m NICO and im taking you to camp half blood, Home”.
