One of my favorite poems of all time & perhaps someone would like to add more Byron or make commentaries...

She Walks in Beauty 1814

"She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

I live in a world
So far from home
Forever silenced
And sentenced to roam
The shackles are locked
And the collar is tight
But nobody hears me
I'm too weak to fight
The stars that once twinkled
Are now dark in the night
And the moon that once shone
No longer gives light
On each sparse tree
No leaf is stirred
And the owls that once played
Can no longer be heard
Far in the distance I can see
A glimpse of weak light
That teases me
I watch it grow then fade away
Like a slippery fish
That just can't stay
And as I try to struggle free
The chains resist
And strangle me
As I fall back I clearly see
That a single bird
Flies over me
It stops to perch
Upon a stone
And opens its beak
In a sorrowful moan
A sweet sparrow
With no where to go
It lost its path
And became a crow.

Changes in life
We all grow older
As the adolescent years hit us
We tend to hate royalty
We tend to want to rebel
Against princesses and queens
That we think are plastic
Yet, as little girls
We, at least once in our lives
Was a princess to someone

Deny it if you wish
But you know it's true
Whether very feminine or a rough housing tomboy
At one time
The cute crowns and glitter at stores
Made you feel tempted by its cuteness

Myself, was somewhat of a princess
The glitter, eyeshadow, lip glosses from Claire's
The light baby colors that we may hate now
Were once a part of us

Little girls
At ages three to ten
At one...

This is how it was meant
to be, I assume.

You and I,
two different beings,
and yet, so connected.

Your thoughts,
so confusing for others,
but for me,
so known.

I can feel your words,
the emptiness that
sleeps inside you,
I can feel.
The silence in your
voice,
I can hear.

You and I,
as if we are from
the different worlds,
and yet,
we understand each other.
At one point, we do.

That mystery
in your eyes,
magic in your words
I can touch,
though you let me not.
You won't let it,
that tear in my eyes
must me held,
you won't let me
feel the sadness.

I hold my tears
for you,
I want to be peaceful,
I want you to be
touched by the breeze
I'm sending,
so you could feel me,
so you could feel me.

You and I,
so different,
and yet, connected
by the thoughts
that are known to ourselves.

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that...

The Yule Forest

A time of darkness & death
Nature will blow it's frigid breath
As the Mighty Oak trees shed their last leaves
While the animals burrow beneath
As the Earth Weeps

High in the endless black sky
The cold full moon shines
It's phantom rays
Through the forest of skeletons
Brittle arms shiver to the sound
of the Wolf's howl
The Guardian

A horned shadow in the trees
Gives it's watchful stare
Her wings with a silent scream as a
Doomed mouse meets it's fate

Beams of light shoot through the valley
Giving rare warmth in it's touch
The Golden ball of life has arrived
But Death holds it's icy grip
For it is his time of Rule

true friends are hard to come by...
yet when you catch them you feel like you can fly...
you trust them,
love them,
and talk of future...
you know that they will never lie...
and next to them you stand side by side...
you love them,
hug them,
and share smiles with eachother...
oh how it feels when you know your important...
that you know you have some one to comfort you...
you hold their hand,
skip down the street,
and feel no defeat...
true friends are hard to come by...
but hold them tight so away they dont fly.

Soon we shall plunge into the cold darkness,
Farewell, vivid brightness of our short-lived summers!
Already I hear the dismal sound of firewood
Falling with a clatter on the courtyard pavements.

All winter will possess my being : wrath,
Hate, horror, shivering, hard, forced labor,
And, like the sun in his polar Hades,
My heart will be no more than a frozen red block.

All atremble I listen to each falling log,
The building of a scaffold has no duller sound.
My spirit resembles the tower which crumbles
Under the tireless blows of the battering ram.

It seems to me, lulled by these monotonous shocks,
That somewhere...

The milky sky, the hazy, slender trees,
Seem smiling on the light costumes we wear,
Our gauzy floating veils that have an air
Of wings, our satins fluttering in the breeze.

And in the marble bowl the ripples gleam,
And through the lindens of the avenue
The sifted golden sun comes to us blue
And dying, like the sunshine of a dream.

Exquisite triflers and deceivers rare,
Tender of heart, but little tied by vows,
Deliciously we dally 'neath the boughs,
And playfully the lovers plague the fair.

Receiving, should they overstep a point,
A buffet from a hand absurdly small,
At which upon a gallant knee they fall...

One would say that your gaze was veiled with mist;
Your mysterious eyes (are they blue, gray or green?)
Alternately tender, dreamy, cruel,
Reflect the indolence and pallor of the sky.

You call to mind those days, white, soft, and mild,
That make enchanted hearts burst into tears,
When, shaken by a mysterious, wracking pain,
The nerves, too wide-awake, jeer at the sleeping mind.

You resemble at times those gorgeous horizons
That the sun sets ablaze in the seasons of mist...
How resplendent you are, landscape drenched with rain,
Aflame with rays that fall from a cloudy sky!

O dangerous woman, O alluring...

One night I dreamed I was wlking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there where two sets of footprints, other times there were only one set of footprints. This was bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints. So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life ther had only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?" The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you.

I had a dream, which was not all a dream.
The bright sun was extinguished, and the stars
Did wander darkling in the eternal space,
Rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth
Swung blind and blackening in the moonless air;
Morn came and went -and came, and brought no day,
And men forgot their passions in the dread
Of this their desolation; and all hearts
Were chilled into a selfish prayer for light;
And they did live by watchfires -and the thrones,
The palaces of crowned kings -the huts,
The habitations of all things which dwell,
Were burnt for beacons; cities were consumed,
And men were gathered round their...

His lifeless eyes look into the distant landscape of some new life.
Life that slipped away from his hands,
Joy that faded inside his weighted soul.

And I look at him with grief
Wondering why was his life so painful despite of my prayers.

Oh, I'm afraid to ask who is he talking to in this cruel loneliness
When only wind whispers a melody of sorrow...

His time has gone long ago,
But his eyes of blue ocean look toward a distant view of the unknown life...

Life he lost in so many defeats
Scourged by the waves of restlessness.

Within his eyes of blue ocean I see these scars
That will remain forever in my soul

In deadness

I will sink

Alone

With a picture of a martyr

Who lived his life as if it wasn't his,

A martyr with eyes of deep blue ocean

In which I sank...
