Cabin for the Summer

Chapter Four: Minnie
Hi, I’m Minnie Ellen James Buchanan. I live with my boyfriend Sam’s parents, Ashley and Kurt. My parents (R.I.P), Nancy and Chris died 6 months ago in a horrible car accident. My little siblings, Marilyn and Jassen were sent to our godparents, Ian and Lea. I was old enough, that I wanted to be with my boyfriend. They welcomed me in with wide arms, but every time I have a school thing our something, they insist I talk to Ian and Lea about it, because they are just “the housing parents”. I treat them like my parents though.
So anyways, today was the day of the cabin. Sam and I were going to this cabin with our (funny, freaky, wacky, crazy, BEST!) friends. I wasn’t as excited as Sam. We were going to be late and get the worst rooms. Then we arrived at this HUGE cabin that was made of a dark wood, that looked almost silky. The porch had an 2 rocking chairs sitting next to each other. There was a swing set with 4 swings and a baby swing (like we would need THAT!). There was also a swing that you could sit about 3 people on, while swinging, not very far, off the ground. It looked amazing. Our car, which was a convertible had the top open, and as Sam was shutting the top I could smell burgers. They smelled so delicious. I was hungry. I jumped out of the car, in lightning speed and was standing in the driveway before you could say “hot potatoes”. Sam got out as I was getting out my “purse” which had a skull on it with pink and purple stitches around it. It had my Apple iPhone which had my favorite cover-the plaid one with a heart in the middle. I got it personalized so it says “Sam + Minnie”.
I shoved my phone into my left front pocket and looked over at where the lake lay sturdily. Kids were there with friends, parents, siblings. It looked like whenever I was littler and I went to the beach with Tori and Ella. We used to have so much fun-we would bury ourselves in the rich sand. Then I saw Chelsea and James. Her hair was sticking out EVERYWHERE and looked like she’d just come out of a cave. I looked at her and grinned. She smiled over at James who looked breathless, his shirt looked a little wacky, especially whenever he turned around and ran-it had a pocket and said “Johnny’s Auto Body Shop-9 AM to 7 PM” Then I realized what was going on. He’d just…got…busy with Chesl. I grinned and decided to criticize her. She looked over at his shirt and blushed. SHE on the other hand was wearing a shirt that said “Rapes R Wrong” and her short shorts that were a classic for her. Lately, Chelsea had gotten into the “ARA” which was the organization against rapes. She’d joined it after her sister, Amelia (who was 15) had gotten raped by some creeps in an alley in-between “Frisky’s Antiques.” and “Bob’s Burgers and Fries”.
I walked over towards Chelsea and grinned. “Well I see I missed some of the classic details-am I right?” I asked nudging her shoulder. She looked at me, her mouth WIDE open and gasped. “How could YOU tell?” She sounded kinda upset that I had found out. “James’ shirt, you’re hair, you’re HAPPINESS!” I said laughing. “Well, shh, don’t tell a soul. I swear to god, if Tori finds out I will strangle you!” She promised. I nodded.
Oh, but I had another idea.
