Cabin for the Summer

Chapter Five: Naomi
I’m Naomi Ann Queues. I live(d) with my parents, Ashlee and Terence and my two older siblings, Katy and Sebastian. I have a wonderful (I love him to DEATH) boyfriend named Tyler who was probably smarter than my best friend, Tori in math last year (sorry, Tori!) Anyways, I had to stay after graduation for a bunch of photos with Tori and stuff. Throughout our time at our little school, Saint Peters, my best friend and I had won a lot of awards. So whenever we were asked personally by Mr. Brunner, our school principal, our parents insisted, except, Tori got to leave earlier because she’d gotten there early, to get her picture taken and crap like that. Lucky! I was stuck with all my old teachers, modeling and giving speeches they were writing down for some thing for the next generation. Yawn!
When we arrived I was surprised. The cabin looked kinda dainty next to Jordon’s parents house, we could’ve spent all summer there, and would’ve been fine, Minnie was sitting on the swing set with her iPad in her lap. She was messing around with something. Sam was sitting next to her on the other side who was writing something in Sharpie on his hand. Chelsea was sitting on the bottom step with her iPod touch in her hands and listening to her favorite Aerosmith song. Her boyfriend, James was playing his DSI and making obnoxious “pew, pew” sounds. I rolled my eyes and said, “Ahem.” Chelsea looked up.
“Naomi! You’re here!” She threw her iPod on the deck and walked over to me. She smiled really happily as though she wanted to tell me something really badly, but it was a secret that her life depended on. Minnie looked up and grinned and turned the iPad off. “Hey, Naomi! Glad you’re here! What took so long?” “The teachers.” I paused looking over to make sure Tyler had the bags. “They insisted on me taking inspirational photos for something.” “Well, shouldn’t have Tori done that too?” I nodded and decided not to explain it. “Yeah, well where is she??” I looked into the window, half expecting her to be laying on the couch watching Paranormal Activity 2 with Laken. “Tori?” James asked, finally piping in. “Yeah.” “They all went to the store to get stuff. Minnie and Sam just got here. We’ve been…” He paused grinning at Chelsea. “Here for more than a…hour, right Chels?” She nodded and blushed whenever Taylor put her hand up in a paw motion. I knitted my eyebrows together, in awe at there secret language. I looked over at Tyler again, who was “hiding” in the back, behind the trunk. I turned around and headed to the back.
“Babe, what’s wrong?” I asked as I pulled my blondish brownish hair into a messy bun, He shook his head and smiled. He grabbed the two bags and started walking back up. He’d forgotten to take his phone. I looked down, and turned it own. He didn’t have a password on his iPhone so I just had to slide my finger across it. It was already opened to his Messages. I looked down. 2 whole conversations from Zack about 1 week ago. 2 from me from Last night at the party, and then 1 from his mom. I opened it because it was just sent 4 minutes ago. It said…
Hey, Tyler, sorry to bother you and your friends. I just thought I’d tell you you’re sister, Kinsley was in a car accident, and she’s at the hospital. The doctors said that she was pregnant and the baby’s dead now. Call if you really want to talk. The doctor said she might be paralyzed but, other than that she’s fine. I’m sorry I didn’t call, but it’s you’re vacation and I want you to have fun. I’m sorry to drop this on you. If you want to call you’re sister, her number is 00211. Love you. Mom:]
